Chapter Two: Superfreak

*~*~*~*

"You're staring." Lexie commented as I stood by the elevators with her and Jackson, watching as Mark hugged a short brunette woman.

"Am not." I denied, though I knew I was doing just that. I took a deep breath and shook my head, forcing myself to look away from Mark and the mystery woman and at my two friends. "I just happened to notice that Mark was talking to someone, that's all."

"You're staring." Jackson sided with our friend. "It's kind of creepy... and disgusting."

"Now you know how the rest of us felt when Meredith was pining over Derek our intern year." I shot back. "Onto a different topic, do either of you know where Callie is? I was assigned to her service today, but I lost her after all the attendings had their meeting this morning."

"Break room." Jackson informed me. I only nodded before heading down the hall, hoping that I was heading towards the right break room. As I went Jackson called after me, "You were staring!"

"Screw you." I threw over my shoulder as I continued down the hall. After a few minutes I found Callie and Arizona sitting at the table in the break room while Teddy was pouring herself some coffee.

"Talk to Cristina." Arizona told her girlfriend as I walked into the room.

"She's in the middle of a nervous breakdown." Callie pointed out, only reminding me of how Cristina had broken-down in the middle of surgery two weeks ago and hid under the operating table. "I can't push her."

"In two weeks, my landlord is gonna hand keys to a Swedish couple with a truckload of Swedish furniture, and I said I'd be gone." Arizona shook her head.

"Teddy, can you... mention it to Owen, like casually, "Hey, how's the apartment search going? No pressure, but Callie and Arizona have a life."" Callie sighed, looking over at her friend, sparing a glance in my direction as I leaned against the doorframe. ""You're crowding them, and Arizona can't handle it.""

"Oh, my God. Are-" Arizona's eyes widened as she focused on the other blonde. I looked at the army veteran myself, noticing how red her eyes were, like she was trying her hardest not to cry. "Teddy, are you okay?"

"Um," Teddy rubbed her forehead, her voice breaking. "Andrew's leaving."

"Oh. Oh, no, you didn't." Callie frowned, pity in her eyes. "She got attached."

"Oh, no. No, no, no." Arizona shook her head. "You were supposed to be smart and cool and G.I. Jane."

"I know that. I know that." Teddy nodded. "Instead, I got attached to the trauma guy who swoops in and swoops out a month later. I'm such an idiot. I'm not G.I. Jane. I'm attachment Barbie."

"Oh, you poor thing. Come here." Arizona rose to her feet, pulling Teddy into a hug. "You know what would make you feel better?"

"What?" Teddy asked as they broke apart.

"Telling Owen to get off his ass and get his traumatized wife out of our apartment." Arizona suggested, making me snort in laughter. At the sound, Callie's gaze snapped to me, her eyes seeming to light up.

"Ooh, Beth, you've been in a situation like this before." She grinned. "How did you handle things when you wanted to live with Lucas?"

"Lucas?" Teddy's brows furrowed, not recognizing the name. "Who's Lucas?"
