As much as he tries, he can't shake off the feeling of doom at what Maine said. He can't dwell on this right now, though. Too much stuff going on at work needing his concentration. He sighed deeply and focused.
"Nakow, kaya pala lahat ng lady Engineers eh parang mga isdang umahon sa tubig at andito pala ang adonis namin." Je said upon seeing him at the site.
Alden is dressed in white button-down shirt & dark denim pants, with the sleeves casually rolled up, arms crossed, his stance aloof. But so very attractive. He's wearing dark shades and a white hard-hat.
"Ako na naman nakita mo."
"Nagulat lang, 'pre, biglang nabuhay ang female population ng kumpanya. 'Tara sa office, pakita ko sa yo yung problema."
They proceeded to the make-shift office on-site while taking off their hard hats & dark shades, where Je led him to the map laid out on the table.
"We are getting grumblings from the local farmers about the proposed golf course, mako-compromise ang farming irrigation nila."
"Haay, sinabi ko na yan kay Chief na wag nang ituloy yan eh, this plan has been scrapped before we even broke ground! Sige, tatawagan ko sya later to update."
"Pero ayos na tayo sa revisions mo, all green na yon."
"Yes, thanks, pare!" Alden said, he sat down and dropped his head on his hands resignedly.
"I hope he didn't go soft and agreed to the demands of the Board or else malaking problema 'to."
"Kaya nga, sige lang. May time pa naman for revisions."
Je watched as Alden spaced out again!
"Pano mo iinterpret kung sabihan ka ng 'don't fall in love with me'?" Alden suddenly blurted out.
Je wanted to tease him but Alden's brooding expresion stopped him. Seryosong tanong yon.
"Hmm, kung yan ang sagot sa 'kin ng nililigawan ko, pwedeng basted na. Or depende sa rason nya, ba't sinabi nya yan. Or ayaw ng commitment?"
"Naguguluhan ako!" Rubbing his face vigorously until it's all red.
"Basted nga pero may hickey ka naman, potah pare, andami naman?!" Je found one on his neck and more around his chest.
"Wag ka nga!"
When Je went back out, he decided to text Maine. She said she'll be in a meeting again today.
"Hey!"
"Hey! I'm so sleepy!"
He had to smile.
"Matagal pa ba yang meeting mo?"
"Nina and I are attending this Tourism talk & I'm bored."
"Plus you're sleepy."
"Gisingin mo nga ako, Alden! Help!"
