Hi ❤❤ Hope you all aren't too mad at me. I wrote another chapter early to make up for it 👀

Faith's POV

I jumped out of the machine and heard a terrible buzzing sound. Snapping my head around, I saw the purple mist shaking uncontrollably, and the time box fell out in multiple pieces.

"What?! No, stop it! Please!" I cried out, kneeling down and trying to put it together.

My hands were shaking and as I failed time after time to put it back. The mist disappeared with a 'POP' sound. I stared at the empty space where it was before, looking at the forest in front of me in shock. The time box fell apart in my hands and onto the grass, my mouth dropped in despair.

"God, no please..." I sobbed, falling to the ground. "Please!" I pounded at the dirt.

"I love him... I love him don't do this to me!" I screamed at the ground, so confused on why it shattered during the trip back.

"Faith?" I heard my brother Haydn say from behind me. "Oh god, Faith! Faith what's wrong?!" He ran up from the tool shed, wiping his hands on his jeans. Kneeling next to me he held me, comforting me. "Oh no..." His eyes spotted the broken box and I felt his body tense up.

"It's gonna be okay, I promise." He muttered as he rocked me. I held onto his shirt as I cried.

"Let's get you inside..." Haydn said after a few minutes, helping me up and walking me out of the field and to the house. As Haydn walked up the steps and opened the front door, Brody and Mom looked up from the kitchen table.

Mom's eyes filled with worry, "Faith?! Faith honey what happened?"

Brody ran up and helped Haydn sit me on the couch and Mom went and called Dad in from cutting wood in the back yard.

"I-It's gone!" I cried, holding my head in my hands.

"What's gone?" Brody asked confused.

"The time machine..." Haydn said, looking up at Mom and Brody.

Mom gasped and held her hand to her mouth, tears filled her eyes, "Oh Faith... I'm so sorry..." She came over, kneeling in front of me and hugging me. I cried on her shoulder as Dad ran in.

"Is everything okay?" He asked Haydn. He shook his head and explained to Dad, and his face dropped as he walked over to us. Dad petted my hair as the rest of my family tried to calm me down so I could explain.

"I don't know how it broke!" I said, trying to catch my breath. Brody got up, grabbing a box of tissues and a glass of water. He came back and gave them to me. I took them, "I woke up, finding Erik in the drawing room upset. I tried to calm him down, but he was so frantic about something that I didn't understand. He kept repeating that he was using me and that I was going to break up with him." I looked up at my family, they all had worried looks on their faces.

"I finally got him to stop being so frantic and he said he wanted to be alone to think, so I respected it and was going to come back for a few days. Then when I came out, it was shattered!" I cried, wiping my eyes.

"Maybe Erik broke it..." Haydn said.

"Shh, Haydn don't say that!" Mom scolded, wiping my face.

"Who knows... But I'm never going to see him again! Even if he did, he would never do it on purpose! He loves me too much to do that!" I said, defending Erik.

We sat in silence for awhile, taking in the information we just received. My body was starting to calm down a bit, crying had exhausted me. What if what Haydn said was right? What if Erik didn't want me around anymore? Did he think I deserved to be home with my family?
