Faith's POV
Soft sounds from the instrument filled the dark, candle lit, room. It's player using vibrato at all of the right times, making the piece seem even more beautiful.

Ayesha purred as I stroked the silky, white fur behind her ears. She was laying on my stomach, as I was sprawled out upside down on my chair, feet on the head rest. My head was propped up by Nadir's legs, which were crossed on the coffee table.

The luminescent glow from the fire and the candles made the scene so much more comforting then the damp, cold catacombs and lake beyond the walls. The only sounds heard in the music room was the violin, Nadir's newspaper, and Ayesha's mewls of content.

The music came to a slow, saddening end. Erik lifted his bow from the violin and placed it into the case, the instrument following. I clapped excitedly, beaming up at the stone ceiling that was previously witnessing my teary eyes. Nadir hummed his approval.

"Good job, my boy. Sad yet mesmerizing and beautiful as always." Nadir flipped the page of the paper, shifting his ankle ever so slightly, causing my head to move up.

I nodded in agreement, "I cried."

"Again?" A deep, accented, voice came from behind my seat. Cold, thin fingers brushed against the arches of my feet. I shrieked, playfully kicking away his hands.

"Yes. Your music always does that to me." I smiled up at him, his face covering my line of sight.

Erik's breathtaking golden embers shown down on me through his mask. Small crinkles of delight and flattery on the side of his eyes were barely visible. A beautiful white smile came with them.

"Thank you, my love." He said as he petted Ayesha's back, and walked towards Nadir to sit next to him.

It was quiet as he settled in, the only sounds were his clothes rustling.

"E?"

"Yes?"

"Is there anything else you want to do for your birthday?" I asked, moving my head backwards on Nadir's legs to meet his gaze, "We haven't really done anything..."

Erik licked his lips in thought, looking out towards the door entrance. Nadir set his paper down, finished with it.

"I agree with Faith. You should choose what you want to do."

"Our fate is in your hands." I said dramatically, sitting upright in my seat, causing Ayesha to leave.

Erik's face suddenly darkened. His thin lips split into an evil, mischievous smirk.

"What?" I said, teasingly.

He shook his head, "Forget it."

"What do you want us to do?" Nadir pressed.

"It's nothing, honestly. We really shouldn't."

"C'mon please! Say it!" I pleaded, setting my face in my hands.

"Well," He said, turning his head slowly towards me, looking me up and down. His eyes turned bright yellow.

"There is one thing I'd like to do."

I gulped.

"ERIK, I DON'T KNOW YOU'RE MIDDLE NAME, DESTLER. PUT ME DOWN OR I'LL KICK YOU SO HARD DOWN THERE, YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO PEE AGAIN." I screeched, hitting his boney back that I was flung over.
