Laurens

I waited for Hercules and Lafayette to have all the materials that they needed for the patrol, growing a little impatient and wanting to get a start on the things for today's chores. I knew that Lafayette and Hercules were the best soldiers of the revolution, but they apparently aren't best at keeping time. I tapped my foot and groaned, checking my pocket watch. I looked up and saw Lafayette and Hercules walking towards me.

"Finally. For god's sake they're slow..." I muttered under my breath with frustration.

"Ah! Mon amie, sorry we took so long, Hercules couldn't find his rifle." Lafayette laughed, smiling.

'He's supposed to be the best but he misplaces his gun?' I thought sarcastically to myself. I only nodded and turned to walk, heading for the first boarder we had to check out. The two men followed behind me, weapons ready for any intruders that we would happen to cross paths with. I kept my hand on my pistol, looking around, keeping my eyes out for any danger. As I kept my focus on our duty, Hercules's loud voice boomed and scared me. I jumped and tripped forwards, landing on my face.

"John, why are you being so intense? Loosen up a bit, man!" Hercules complained. I groaned and sat up, putting my hand on my hostler to rest it upon my pistol but I realized that it was missing from its place. I gasped and right as I was about to search for my gun, shots were fired.

"Fire, men!" A thick British accented voice growled. I whipped my head up and I saw Lafayette and Hercules duck down, gaining coverage. I saw my gun out of the corner of my eye and I quickly grabbed it. Once I had it in my grasp, I jumped up and started firing. I managed to hit the first Brit with one shot. I kept firing and hit every single one of them, rage in my eyes and I kept my jaw clenched. I felt the adrenaline pumping in my veins. I grinned proudly as I hit each one of my targets in a place that would wound them badly but not kill them, I refuse to kill anyone outside of the battle field. I'm not that heartless. Once they had all been hit, they scampered off in retreat. I put my gun back in my hostler and looked at Lafayette get up. He and Hercules stared at me in surprise, they looked rather shocked.

Lafayette

I stared at Laurens and I knew that my eyes were wide with surprise. I hadn't moved other than getting up. I stood there staring at him, seeing a different side of him and seeing something in him that made me even more interested in this young man. Hercules put an arm around Laurens's shoulder and laughed.

"That was amazing! I like this guy! C'mon, let's go see if there are any more Brits to kick in the ass!" He smiled. Laurens smiled and nodded, turning with Hercules and they started to walk away, following the boarder. I watched them walk away and felt a twinge of jealousy in my chest. This new side of Laurens was captivating and made me blush as I remembered the look on his face when he was firing that gun. The way he moved was fascinating, he was so swift and his movements were actually rather graceful. I watched them walk away but I never took my eyes off of Laurens.

'I can already tell that he is one hell of a man...' I thought to myself, starting to follow them, the fire in Laurens's eyes being the only thing I could think of now.
