All I've Ever Wanted (Laurette)

Chapter 34

Laurens's POV

I felt tears of joy roll down my cheeks but they soon got mixed in with the oncoming down pour of rain that no one had expected. I looked out at the field to the the horse being skittish and placing about while trying to shake warred from its hide. Lafayette saw this to and we both burst into laughter. I grinned slightly, knowing Lafayette had his journal with him so I quickly reached inside his coat and stole it, then ran out into the ran. I made sure it was covered so it wouldn't get wet but Lafayette jumped to his feet and chased after me.
"John, give it back!" He laughed, trying to reach out and grasp my arm. I turned around to see if he was following me but he wasn't there.
"Laf....?" I called out, but I jumped and screamed when someone wrapped their arms around me from behind. I looked to see who it was and smiled, relaxing that it was just Lafayette. He kissed my cheek and took his book back, putting it back in his coat. I giggled and kissed him softly on the lips, twirling one of his loose curls from his bun. We laughed as we became soaked by the down pour. My hair became sort of flat and lost a little of my curls. I sighed, not appreciating the affects it was having on my hair. Lafayette kissed my head and picked me up, sweeping me off my feet. I blushed slightly and clinging go him so I wouldn't fall.

Lafayette's POV

I held John in my arms, kissing his cheek and his forehead. He kept clinging to me, and I chuckled then swung him around in a circle, his forehead pressed against mine. While I swung him, we both ended up laughing and when I stopped, we stared into each other's eyes. I couldn't look away, I continued to stare into his baby blues as he stared into my brown eyes. His flecks of silver in his eyes mesmerized me, making me stare even longer. After moments that seemed like hours, I leaned in and kissed his soft and perfect lips. His lips fit perfectly with mine and I didn't pull for a minute or two. When our moment was over, we went to go get the horse and headed back to camp. We tried to go as fast as we could so we could get out of the rain. On the way back to camp, we laughed and shared joked, having fun and bonding together. I kept my hands on top of his as we held the reins together.
'This is officially the best day of my life.' I told myself in the back of my head.
