Laurens's POV

I woke up the next morning, having sleep most of yesterday away. I felt fine for the most part, my anxiety about yesterday starting to wear off me. I looked around to see if Lafayette was still in the tent but was gone. Hercules laid on his cot sound asleep though. I smiled and a small giggle slipped from my mouth. I got up and got dressed, ready to face today head-on and with the determined eyes of a tiger! Or just a very determined and feisty turtle. Either way, I was ready to go to action! I was pumped, something sparked in my chest, making me want to fight. I quickly put on my breeches, boots, tunic, vest, and coat then basically ran out of the tent. But I jumped, slightly frightened when I hear sudden gun fire, many bullets soaring through the air. At this point, Hercules came scrambling out of the tent to see what was going on. I could see what was happening, the redcoats had invaded the camp. I quickly ran back inside, picking up my hat then running back out of the tent, searching around for a sword. I found one and yanked it up, charging towards a redcoat about to shoot a unarmed man. I gritted my teeth and jabbed it right in his ribs. Swiftly, I pulled it out and cut down another redcoat who was headed straight for Burr's tent.
'This would be easier with Alex here!' I groaned in my mind. I tried my best to impact the slaughter of British. My determination that I felt earlier began to grow like rising flames. I grinned slightly as I heard the satisfying sound of British screams of agony and the sound of flesh being torn by the steel. My fellow revolutionaries shouted orders, fighting for their personal items and also trying to stop the Brits from getting to the general's tent. I myself was just focused on the kill.
'Had yesterday changed me that much already...?'
