Lafayette's POV
I looked at Laurens as he came out of the medical tent. I blushed when I looked at him, he looked amazing... his beautiful smile had returned to him and he just looked adorable. I was silent for a few minutes. I stared at him, smiling softly and taking in all of his divine features... His short stature, his long curly hair that was tied back, his outrageous amount of freckles, his bright blue eyes, and his smile that was brighter than the sun. Not to mention, what he wore made him seem slightly more matured and he just looked good in what he was wearing. He wore a dress shirt that came to his elbows, a black vest, black breeches, and his boots from his uniform.
"I'll be heading off to the cook tent, I'll see you later Laf." He said, his voice blissful. He turned and limped over to the cook's tent. I bit my lip so I wouldn't protest to him being out of bed. I wasn't comfortable with him being up and about, he still needed to rest...
'Great, now this is all you're going to think about and you're going to worry about him all day...' I thought to myself with a sigh. Then I remembered the leather journal I was writing in earlier. I grinned and slipped away to the tree that me and John had our first bonding moment together. I sat in the shade of the tree and pulled a quill from my jacket, a small jar of ink with it. I focused all my thoughts and wrote my feelings onto the page. Of course, all I could think about was John... I couldn't help but to write,
"My dear John Laurens, if I could ask you to be mineYou're divine, and refined and oh how I crave you in my arms
How I crave you in my embrace... My love for you,
how I wish it was a thing I could face...
For I am too scared of how you'll react...I wish you would be the music to my dance,
though you are already the answer to all my questions...
My dear John Laurens, I love thee,
For thou are so divine..." I sighed and sat my quill down. I smiled softly and closed my eyes, leaning back against the tree. I imagined John sitting next to me, I was imagining him with his head on my shoulder and our fingers intertwined...
Oh, how I yearn for such a dream to come true..."But for now, I shall admire you from afar mon amour..." I whispered and a faint smile arise from the radiation of my exuberance.
