Laurens's POV

I stood hunched over in the stream. Herc had told me what to do when I saw a fish and showed me how to catch one. I had to admit, I was nervous, I had never done this before. After a quick lesson on what to do, we stood and waited for the fish to go past us. Many did and Hercules caught many of them, I tried but failed miserably because I missed each one. I filled my cheeks with air and huffed in frustration.

"Oh-! Why can't I catch any of these stupid fish?" I complained and balled my fists, getting frustrated easily like a little kid. Hercules laughed at me which made me stomp my foot and cross my arms.

"Relax John, it will take a couple times of practice till you actually catch one. Each failure gives more anticipation for your huge success at the end." He said and patted my back.

I relaxed and rolled my sleeves up higher, now becoming serious. I was determined to catch one so I focused more on the fish swimming up and down the stream. But I didn't want to catch any fish; I wanted to catch a big one to prove that I could be just as good as Herc at this. I steadied my feet as I saw a big, slick, swift salmon swim towards me. It was almost the size of both Hercules's hands- which meant it was huge. I braced myself and tensed, ready to basically launch myself at it. It got a few feet away from me and I went for it. I launched myself at it, gripping it as tight as I could in my arms. It was heavy and a fighter. It squirmed and hit me in the face with its tail in an attempt to free itself. But I wasn't letting go, no sir. I twisted and turned, trying to dodge its tail, which I did for a bit but then it just kept hitting me. I wrapped my legs around its head and grabbed its tail. The salmon slipped out from my legs and started to swim, dragging me with it. I managed to yank back on his tail and quickly sat up, holding him high above the water by his tail.

"I CAUGHT IT!" I said in utter triumph. Hercules just stood there with a hand over his mouth and he tried not to laugh. I was slightly confused, and looked down at myself. I was completely soaked and some of my hair came loose from my pony tail and was stuck to my face. I didn't care though; embarrassment could not diminish my pride at all at the moment. I got up and walked past Hercules.

"Try and beat that." I said cockily, walking over to our clothes, not letting go of my prize.
