discovery

update ! well, more like discovery ! more like thoughts ??

so, i go to "craft night." it's actually a support group for lgbt+ youth, but it's called "craft night" for the people who aren't out to their families.

it's a safe place, and i really appreciate being able to be there.

yesterday, there was a guest speaker. she was a librarian who just recently moved to work in my town.

she's a queer librarian, and she spoke about how she's trying to make a difference in the way that lgbt+ youth feels in the community, and their representation in the town.

she spoke about what we think should happen in the library to bring awareness to the lgbt+ literature and the lgbt+ population in our town as a whole.

we discussed ideas, and after we finished talking about that, we got into other discussions.

she then began to talk about her perspective on sexuality and gender.

she spoke about how she believes that sexuality and gender is fluid.

that really resonated with me ??

it just made me think, you don't need to be the same person every single day.

just be you.

whether that's the same person everyday, or maybe you change day to day. you're just you.

if you feel comfortable with who you are, and if you feel comfortable with sharing, share it !! tell people, whether you tell people by using labels, pictures, words, or motions.

if you like yourself, you're comfortable with yourself, but you just aren't ready to tell people, that's okay too !! just know that once you are ready, it'll feel so good.

if you don't like who you are, you'll learn to love yourself eventually. you might have to work extremely hard at it, but you'll get there. i know you will.

i'm here if you need someone to talk to. about anything. it doesn't have to be drama, problems, or sadness. i'm here for anything.
