uglies

yo i just finished a 400+ page book in a few hours... oops.

i just read "uglies" by scott westerfeld !!

i /personally/ really enjoyed it. i'd recommend it to you if you've read & enjoyed "the hunger games" or the "matched" trilogy.

it's a scifi/dystopian/fantasy book (series !!) that is set in a world where appearance really does matter. when someone turns sixteen, they go through a surgery that turns them into a "pretty."

tally has looked forward to being a pretty her entire life. she's ready to escape the juvenile life of an ugly, where all you do is go to school and pull tricks to pass time.

tally meets a girl named shay a few weeks before they were both scheduled to turn pretty. shay doesn't want to be pretty, she wants to get away from all of this.

one week before their surgeries are scheduled, shay runs away. after shay successfully escapes, tally learns and sees a whole new side of the pretty world.

the government//authorities give tally a choice. turn her friend in and betray her trust, or never turn pretty at all.

the choice tally makes will change her life forever.

BUM BUM BUM !!

anyway, i was so intrigued by the story. there were twists and turns around every corner. i grew to be
/so/ attached to the characters.

there's two (technically three) more books in the series, and i can't wait to read them as well.

i highly recommend this book if you are even slightly interested in it !!
