Lexi POV

Seeing Xavier spitting mad and glaring at a girl and guy standing there. The girl looked sad. Striding up to Xavier I put my hand on his bicep.

"Xavier, come on. Now is not the time or place." I tried to gently talk to him.

"I think this is exactly the time and the place Lexi." He seethed out. "My mate let another try to mark her!" The last part came out broken.

Sucking in a sharp breath I glanced at the couple and indeed saw her neck was red and puffy, showing the signs of an attempted marking. Stepping in front of them and facing Xavier I put my hands on his biceps. "Xavier. Go to my room."

"Lexi, I..."

"I'm not negotiating here. Go to my room right now." My tone was harsh but that's what he needed at this moment. Getting my key out of my bra I handed it to him and saw him stalk off towards the elevators turning back to the couple I leveled them with a hard stare. The girl looked at the floor.

"I'm sorry."

"That the best you can do?" I shot out snottily.

"I didn't think I'd ever find my mate and when Jake lost his, it seemed like fate had brought us together." She said sniffling.

"Mmmmhmmmm." I said not convinced.

"At least he has you. You'd be a great luna." She said looking up at me slightly.

"Yeah, so not going to happen. I'm his best friend and I have a mate." No point in telling her he doesn't want me.

"Oh." Looking back down, I watched as she nervously shuffled her feet. Scoffing I turned to go find Xavier.

"Let's just have the two of you stay out of his way." Throwing that over my shoulder I turned down the hallway and saw Xavier sitting on the ground between the two elevators, head in his hands. Sliding down next to him I just waited.

"It's really fucked Lex." He finally whispered out.

"Not yet. Stay positive. Everything happens for a reason. I remember some asshole telling me that when I felt like my world was ending." With my head leaning back against the wall I almost missed his ghost of a smile.

"I was an asshole for telling you the truth?"

"No. Just remember that when I'm telling you all that same crap you told me." Standing I leaned out and grabbed his wrists to pull him up. Hugging him around his waist it took him a minute to respond.

"Thanks."

"Anything for you Xav." Grabbing his hand I pressed the button to get us up to my room. Stepping into the elevator we were silent until we got to my room. Walking in I watched as Xavier flopped down on my bed and buried his head in my pillows. Grabbing the blankets he rolled them all up on top of him and finally stopped moving. A few minutes later I watched as he wiggled and finally his shoes popped out from the end of the blanket. Smirking I went to pick up the phone and call down stairs.

20 minutes later there was a knock at the door. Standing to open it I watched as Xavier's head moved and slowly appeared from under the blankets as the door opened. John laughed as soon as he saw the sight. A slight growl from Xavier had him backing down. Grabbing the box from John I smiled at him and walked back into the room.

"Lexi please tell me that pizza is for you and me?" Xavier said sitting up.

"I thought I'd just eat the whole thing myself and watch the walking dead reruns." I told him smirking. Watching the fire light in his eyes, he scooted over so I could get in the bed with the pizza and the remote. Turning the volume up, I watched as he opened the pizza box and we settled in for a long night of zombies and pizza.
