1 Week Later
Standing I shifted between my wolf and human form several times. Seeing Rachel's signal to stop I walked over to my gown before heading over to the bed. Sitting I felt a pain in my back which made me wince. Looking over at her I saw a small frown. Smiling, I waved it off.
"Still getting used to the shifting regularly again. I'll be ok." Snorting at that I watched as she grabbed her stethoscope and started to listen and look me over before finally stepping back.
"I'd say you're going to be fine. Keep practicing your shifting, you went too long without shifting so you need to get back in the rhythm of it. When you don't shift you weaken your wolf too." Giving me a stern look, she moved on. "I'll let you go back into the general population on the condition that you come once a week for me to monitor your healing. In my opinion you probably won't heal more than this but I want to keep a steady monitoring on your back."
"Yes ma'am." I told her giving her a slight salute. Standing I stretched before walking to the bag the boys had brought for me. Digging in I found my favorite pair of yoga pants and a loose fitting tank top, I quickly stripped out of the gown and threw the pants over my legs, feeling them bag around my thighs had me stopping for a minute before I shook my head and threw the tank top on. Turning I looked over my shoulder to see if the scars were noticeable. Seeing only a few edges poking out I pulled my hair out of it's bun and let it skim down my back. Looking up I caught Rachel's eye. Forcing a smile out at her I tried to explain.
"My other scars went away when I changed to a wolf. I was hoping these would do the same." I told her motioning towards my ankles and wrists where the restraint scars had been.
"Lexi, the scars could still go away. These things just take time. You're other scars went through a drastic change with your body though. You went from human to werewolf because of that psycho."
"I know Rachel. I just..." Trailing off I looked at the floor before I felt her rush over and hug me. Squeezing her back, we stepped apart and with a small wave, I grabbed the duffel bag to leave. Stepping out of the door, I took a deep breath in before peering around the corner. Seeing nobody I quickly looked the other way and saw Chris walking towards the hospital. Stopping, at seeing me, I cursed slightly and took off in the other direction. Skidding to a stop in a new hallway, I cautiously looked around to make sure that nobody was around before quickly making my way towards my room. Stopping I listened to a couple of voices walking towards me, dashing down another hall I took a few twists and turns before stopping to listen again. Hearing footsteps behind me, I pushed on towards my room. Getting to my hallway I walked over to my door before feeling someone behind me. Rearing backwards I quickly slammed my head into their nose and delivered a well placed elbow to their gut. Spinning I saw it was Chris. Gasping slightly I opened my door and stepped in. Turning to close the door I saw him sprawled on the floor, sitting up on his elbows looking at me in shock. Slamming my door closed I latched it and slid to the floor. Feeling the tears coming, I brought my knees to my chest and just let them overcome me. After a few minutes I heard a soft knock at my door.
"Lexi, are you ok?"
"Go away Christopher."
"Not while your crying."
"Christopher, just go away. I don't want you here." Pushing myself up I went into my bathroom, slammed that door and locked it before turning on my radio. Drowning out his pounding on my door I started the bath before sinking into it. Eventually I heard the pounding stop and I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding. Sinking farther into the tub I felt my eyes get heavy and I drifted into sleep.
