Lexi POV
Keeping my gaze up I zeroed in on Xavier's mate, seeing she appeared a little ruffled but otherwise no worse for wear I looked over at Greg.
"Long time no see April." He said shooting a grin over that revealed the crooked yellow teeth.
"I thought you'd died." I told him flippantly. Hearing his laugh I raised my eyebrows slightly.
"You've changed since the last time we met."
"Can't say the same for you. Let the girl go Greg."
"Now April, you should know it doesn't work like that! What if you try and run?" He said with a slight grin.
"I won't but to help ease you're mind, she and I will met half way. When I know she is safe with Xavier, I'll meet you the rest of the way." I told him with a scowl.
"I might be able to work with that. Whose to say you won't double cross me though?"
"They can leave and go back the way we came without me. No harm comes to them and you can have me fair and square." I told him with a slight shrug. Watching his grin expand, I watched him grab the girl and thrust her forward, earning a growl from Xavier.
"Let's go April. I'm not a very patient person." At that I motioned Xavier's mate to start walking forward. Moving quickly I motioned for her to slow down a bit. Reaching her in the middle I gave her a brief smile before letting her run to Xavier. Scooping her up I watched as Xavier turned to leave without a backwards glance. Feeling the twinge in my heart, I let them go until they were out of sight before breathing in a sigh. Walking over to Greg I gazed at him behind a mask of an emotionless void. Feeling his hand caress my check I fought back the urge to flinch.
"Got a nasty shiner coming on there. You're old pack didn't treat you well?"
"I was treated just fine until you came along." I spat out. Hearing his guffawing laugh I jerked my head out of his hand.
"Let's get this over with." I shot out.
"So eager. I think I like this new side to you." He said with a smirk. Growling slightly I watched as he put a hand to my neck and pulled me closer. "Leave me again and I'll kill everyone you love. If they die it will be their blood on your hands this time." Gasping in slightly I watched the excitement behind his eyes before the hood came over my face and I was plunged into an artificial darkness.
