Lexi POV

Hitting Xavier square in the chest, I dug my back paws into his lower belly as he pushed me off. Hitting on my back and sliding I got to all fours as he lunged at my leg. Jumping and shifting into my human form I landed on his back and grabbed his neck. Putting him in a headlock, I felt him roll over and pin me underneath him. Changing to his human form, he grabbed my ankle and tried to pull me around as he got up but I kicked out and caught his elbow making him hiss. Jumping back, I stood to watch him warily.

"Was it worth it?" I spat out.

"Was what worth it?"

"Throwing our friendship away for her?" I gestured. Watching as his wolf fight for control, I saw Xavier push back.

"She's my mate Lexi! You wouldn't understand!"

"You're right Xavier! I wouldn't! Because I'm not heartless and cruel enough to sacrifice somebody for my mate. You can't even begin to know what I went through." Slashing out I ripped into his leg. Yowling, he came at me and grabbed my arm with his teeth. Screaming out I pulled his ear until he let go. Holding onto his ear I used my free hand to throw some punches in at his throat and face. Snipping at my hand, he had me jerking it back and loosing my balance until he sat on my chest and shifted again.

"Lexi, I'm sorry! I didn't know what else to do! I was an idiot and a moron and a heartless jerk. What else do I have to do to prove to you that I am sorry!" He yelled out. Reaching around with my legs, I managed to topple our position so I was on top. I punched him a few more times for good measure before leaning closer.

"Say it." I watched as his eyes widened in recognition.

"Never."

"Then you aren't sorry." I spat out and reared back to punch him again. Flipping me over he grabbed my hand and twisted it until I heard a breaking sound. Yelping out I kicked out and got him in the crotch. As he hunched over I brought  my knee up to his nose until I heard the satisfying crunch. Swinging my fist I had him on the ground and pinned. Leaning over him I scratched my elongated claws over his neck.

"Say it."

"Lexi, is the best in the whole world and Xavier is the biggest loser that ever lived. I wish everyone could be as cool as Lexi." He muttered out.

"I couldn't hear you." I spat out at him.

Yelling it out this time I started laughing and toppled over from off of him. Watching him wince as he sat up I looked at him. Scratches all over his body, broken nose, probably a few broken ribs. Scoffing at him, I sat up and looked over at Chris and Frank who were looking at me like I grew a third head. Standing I went over to Carmen who had grabbed a dress from somewhere and slipped it on.

"Thanks." I whispered to her. Looking at the faces around me, I felt Xavier walk up behind me now clad in basketball shorts. Turning to look at him, I snorted out at him.

"You broke my damn nose again, Lexi."

"You deserved it the first time and you deserved it this time." I sniffed at him.

"We made up, you're supposed to be nice." Xavier huffed out.

"I am being nice. I didn't mention that this is the third time a girl has beat your ass." I shot out. Hearing a laugh from behind us we turned to Alpha Merritt.

"Xavier, if this tiny sprite has beat you 3 times, I'd hate to see you in a real fight." Merritt laughed out. Seeing the rest of the group snicker I looked at Xavier's sad face.

"He's just scared to really hurt me. Carmen would kill him and when I recovered, I probably would too. Plus he's at a disadvantage since I'm a genetic mutant." I tossed out lightly. Seeing Alpha Merritt laughing and slapping Xavier's back I walked over to grab the shirt Carmen held out to me. Smiling at her I turned to Alpha Merritt.

"Sorry Alpha, I disrupted your meeting and postponed you. Promise it won't happen any more." I said with a smile.

"That was worth it. Family squabbles sometimes just need to be aired out and handled." He gave me a knowing wink. Returning it with a laugh I sent the boys on the way to the office and made Carmen and Frank take me to go have my wrist looked at.
