2 Days Later
Cracking my eye open I could feel the throbbing in the scratches on the side of my face. Reaching up I could feel my arms sluggishly moving toward my face. Shaking hands touched the sensitive scratches. Pulling my finger tips away I saw the blood. Sighing I sat up slowly, the pounding in my head intensified. Looking at my arms I saw that the break in my arm had set a bit off and the scratches on my arms were slow to heal. Trying to see the scratches on my back I pulled my shirt up to wince as the blood stuck to the scabs. Whimpering I pulled it off to see that those scratches were healing slowly as well. Feeling dizzy I laid back down until I heard footsteps and a mumbled oath before the person took off running. Groaning I tried to open my eyes. Feeling myself slipping into darkness I heard several pairs of footsteps approach quickly. Growling I could hear a familiar chuckle before the dizziness took over and I rolled slightly to vomit.
"April, April, April. This can't be easier than just saying yes. You're body is shutting down. Surely you've given up on your childish fantasy that your knights in shining armor will rescue you?" Groaning I let loose another thin stream of vomit. Hearing his sigh I felt arms come up under my legs and around my back. Holding in my whimpers I could felt dizzy as I swayed with the person walking. The swaying lasted a couple minutes before I heard a door slam open and I was deposited on a crinkly surface.
"Fuck." I heard a muffled whisper as fingers began to prod at my face. Groaning I weakly tried to slap at the hands only to have my hands restrained. Pulling limply I felt my wolf pacing sluggishly in my head. Growling I tried in vain to escape before I felt the prick of a needle in my arm. Whimpering I felt the hands release me as I floated into a hazy relief. Sighing I felt my arms being examined before I was rolled onto my stomach and I could hear more swearing as my back was examined. Giggling slightly as I felt cool hands gently pry my shirt up I could hear more mumbled oaths before my shirt was yanked down and I heard the people move into the hallway.
"Alpha, she needs a serious dose of antibiotics, the puss drained from several of her wounds, clean bandages, a sterile environment and her radius reset if you want her to survive. She's going to be septic before much longer."
"She was fine two days ago."
"He wolf is failing her. She's going to deteriorate quicker because her wolf can't heal her. Add in no food and minimal water for 8 days running we're lucky she's still alive."
"Fix her."
"Alpha, I don't..."
"Fix her James."
"Yes Alpha." Hearing several footsteps exit the room I let out a giggle.
"Well Fuck April." I heard Dr. James say before going to gather his tools.
"Lexi, Doctor James. My name is Lexi." I heard him stop gathering tools and could just imagine him looking at me.
"Alpha says your name is April."
"Well you're Alpha knows nothing about me. Please call me Lexi." Giggling again I heard him moving around again before his footsteps came closer to me.
"Apr.... Lexi I mean. Can you see anything right now?"
"Nope! It's like looking up at the sky minus the stars." I told him giggling.
"Are you in pain right now Lexi?"
"I feel loopy but no pain." Giggling again I tried to shake my head. "I'm normally not this giggly."
"That's probably the pain medication. Lexi, I'm going to start by cleaning up your back, other various cuts, then I'm going to reset your arm, get an IV in you and clean off your face. I'm not going to knock you out because with how much damage you've been through I don't know if you'd wake up. After this I'll get one of the guards to help me move you over to a patient room and I'll let you sleep." Giggling loudly I tried to nod my head yes before I gave up.
"Sure Doctor." Hearing him sigh I laid on my stomach until I felt a pressure on my back. The increasing pressure made me cry out. Whimpering as he drained the scratches on my back I felt weak and weary when he rolled me over. Attending to the scratches on my legs, and arms. Feeling him grab my arm between his hands I tried in vain to jerk it away before I felt the break. Screaming I barely noticed the splint and wrapping before the doctor started cleaning my face. Biting my tongue at this point I watched the black dots swim in front of my face when he suddenly stepped back.
"Open your eyes for me A.. Lexi." Cringing it took me a minute to flutter my eyes open for him. When I saw him come into a blurry field I went to reach up and wipe my eyes before his hands came up and stopped mine. Pushing them away he grabbed a bottle and lightly sprayed water into my eyes. After a few minutes he stepped back and grabbed a soft cloth. Dabbing the area around my eyes he stepped back after a few seconds and asked me to look up. Glancing up I saw a man in his upper 60's glancing at me from behind curious eyes and a salt and pepper beard. Giving him a tentative smile I glanced quickly around the room. Hearing him step closer again I quickly glanced back at his face before looking at his hands. Seeing he held bandages I let him wrap me up, including my eyes before laying back on the table. Exhausted I heard him call for a guard as he put an IV in my arm. Feeling gentle hands underneath me I fell asleep to a gently swaying.
