Toweling off my hair I went over to my bag to find some leggings when I heard the door open. Glancing up I saw Chris walk in. Standing up straight I watched as walked closer to me. Grabbing my elbows he pulled me to him and nuzzled the top of my head. Reaching around and squeezing him tightly I felt him sigh out a breath.
"I wanted to kill you today."
"I know, but you mostly wanted to kill Xavier." I shot out at him, looking up at his face. Seeing him sigh out and release one arm to swipe a hand across his face made me laugh.
"It's just how we handle things Chris. He's family. When I had freak outs before about being a wolf he just let me pound on him and get out my frustrations. Him and Dillon were the only reason I didn't so something stupid." Reaching up on tip toes I kissed him nose softly. Seeing his goofy smile made me laugh.
"He wants to talk to you though." Chris muttered after a minute.
"I figured he would." I told him turning to grab my clothes. As if seeing what I was in for the first time Chris grabbed me close and nuzzled my neck. Laughing and pushing him off, I went into the bathroom and shut the door. Changing quickly I walked out, pecked Chris on the cheek and started walking towards the office. Once I reached it, I hesitated slightly before knocking. Hearing a voice shout come in, I opened the door to see Xavier sitting at his desk. Looking up he gave me a small smile.
"Didn't think you'd come."
"We're over it now aren't we?" I shot out before throwing myself on the couch.
"Lexi, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I blamed you and it wasn't right. I knew it wasn't but I kept blaming you and I just lashed out. Then when we got you back, you're right I tried to push and force you to forgive me in a way and that wasn't right either. I fucked up a lot." He said leaning back in his chair.
"You're wolf was worried about your mate." I told him with a shrug.
"It's not an excuse!" He muttered.
"No, it's not." I agreed. "I understand why though. It's like when Chris threatens to kill you because of me, you guys don't go to war over it. You just understand and deal with it." Looking up at me with surprise he just stared at me for a second.
"Took you a while to come up with that didn't it?" He asked with a smirk.
"Hours and hours." I told him on a laugh. "It's true though. I was being dumb too. I just wanted to hold it against you but that's not the way to go about it."
"Friends again?"
"Maybe. I'm willing to forgive you but our trust was broken Xav. It will take some time to mend that." I told him honestly. I watched as he sighed and looked up at the ceiling.
"I knew that, but I had to try. Chris said the shame of having to face you again would suck."
"Did he know? I guess he knows from first hand experience." I mused out loud. Looking up I saw that Xavier had stood up. Sitting up on the couch I watched as he started out of the room. Stopping at the door, he turned to look at me.
"You coming?" Nodding warily, I followed him into the kitchen area. Seeing his mate there, I looked at him quizzically.
"Lexi, I want you to meet my mate." Smiling at her I held out my hand.
"Nice to meet you Lexi." She said with a faint smile.
"Same for you, just know if you ever hurt him again, I'll beat you black and blue." I told her cheerfully. Seeing her gulp, had my smile turning a bit more wolfish. Excusing myself I went back to the room that Chris and I were sharing. Seeing Chris lounging on the bed with a book, I giggled and went to jump on the bed. Landing on him, I heard his breath rush out. Sliding over to my side of the bed, I looked over at him amused face.
"What's up buttercup?" I asked him laughing.
"Nothing." He said shaking his head. "How'd your thing with Xavier go?"
"Good, told him that he's forgiven but I don't trust him." I told him shrugging. Reaching across him to grab my book, I squealed when his hands wrapped around my waist to pull me on top of him.
"You ok?" He asked me looking intently into my eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I told him with a smile. Leaning down to press a small kiss to his lips, I heard him gasp and put a hand on the back of my head. Deepening out kiss, I pulled back startled. Seeing his hurt expression, I quickly tried to put his fears to rest.
"No no! It's not you. Just scared myself is all. I didn't expect to want to be touched after all that happened." I whispered out quietly. Feeling him shift so he was sitting up, he gently took my head in his hands.
"Lexi, I'll never rush you or push you. I'll take what you are ready to give." Kissing me lightly on the nose, he moved to push me off his lap. Wrapping my arms around him I kissed him slowly. Slowly the kiss became more primal and we were trying to touch each other through our clothes. Pulling back slightly he rested his forehead against mine.
"Is this too fast Lex?" Shaking my head at him, I pulled him closer to me.
