Chris POV - Revised

3 Weeks  After Lexi's Disappearance.

Watching as my wolves trained I grabbed my phone out of my pocket, hitting speed dial one I listened to the ringing before the voicemail kicked on. Swearing I put the phone in my pocket and tried to concentrate on the wolves in front of me. Hearing someone approaching beside me, I glanced over to see Matt coming up beside me.

"Still no answer?"

"No. It's been a month since I last talked to him. I may have to go camp out on his territory for a few days to talk to her. It worries me that I either get no answer or a short one from Xavier though."

"Are we sure he is telling her about your messages?"

"I'm not certain about anything at this point." I growled out. Signaling for the wolves to stop fighting I began to round them up when we could hear rapid footsteps approaching. Tensing my warriors got into fighting positions when a wolf burst into the clearing. Recognizing the wolf as Xavier's beta I signaled for my wolves to stand down. Gesturing to a pair of shorts we waited as he changed back into human form.

"Alpha Chris," he started with a slight turn to expose his neck. "I know I have no right to be here but it's Lexi, Alpha. She traded herself to Greg so that Xavier's mate would be released." 

Growling I watched as he stepped back and exposed his neck more.

"What do you mean she traded herself?"

"Greg kidnapped Alpha Xavier's mate after the gathering from what we can tell. He offered to return her unharmed but Lexi had to come willingly. He sent the message with a dead body. Lexi immediately agreed because that's just who she is."

"How long has she been gone?" I asked signaling to Matt to ready the warriors. Watching as they dispersed I almost missed Dillon's comment. "3 weeks? You waited 3 weeks to tell me that my mate is in the clutches of a psychopath!" Growling I stepped closer to Dillon as he stepped back and knelt to make himself appear smaller. Trying to reign in my control I started passing back and forth. "Why didn't Alpha Xavier call me?"

"It took him a while to stop blaming Lexi for his mate's disappearance."

"I deserved to know right when it happened Beta!" I yelled out spittle flying off my lips.

"I know Alpha! It's why I'm here now. Alpha Xavier doesn't know I came but I feel like he has put this off long enough. We need your help to find her." Growling I mindlinked Matt that I was headed to Xavier's territory and the he and my warriors needed to leave in the hour. Turning back towards Dillon I motioned for him to lead the way.

"Let's go to your Alpha, Beta Dillon. I'll try not to kill him until we find my mate." Hearing his growl I silenced him with a look as I changed into my wolf. Running quickly I could feel my heart pounding as I imagined the unspeakable horrors that Lexi must be going through.
