Chris POV

Slamming my hands on Xavier's desk I could feel the anger rippling off of him. Not backing down, I growled and poked my finger into his chest.

"You are the sleeziest son of bitch I've ever met. You call yourself an Alpha when really you're just a scared dog too afraid to tell me when my mate is missing. Sacrificing one of your own makes it even worse!" Watching as his hair grew longer and his eyes changed to an amber I could feel my wolf tensing up.

"You have no idea what it's like! The worry! She volunteered Chris! What else was I supposed to do?"

"I have no idea? I have no idea? That sick bastard had my mate and my mother. I saw the aftermath Xavier. I know what happens to people who are taken by him! You didn't want another option! You let your wolf take over and now you're too proud to say I fucked up! Why the hell did it take 3 weeks for me to find out she's been taken? Why did your beta have to sneak out to tell me?"

"We were looking Chris! I couldn't come to you with nothing!"

"Yet here we are. No idea where she is, no real search parties, just you and your whore. Living it up while your friend gets beaten and raped and god only knows what." Watching as his face fell I felt a smirk tug on my lips. "Sucks to remember that she's your friend doesn't it? Sold her out so you didn't have to think."

"You don't get it Chris."

"I get it better than most Xavier." Shaking my head I stalked across the room.  "I want the captain of your warriors to help me along with your beta. I need full run of your lands until she is found and I need you to show me where you dropped her off."

"Chris, I'll do anything you need but we already checked that area."

"Excuse me if I don't believe you." Hearing the honk I looked out the window to see Matt pulling up with my warriors. Striding towards the door I leveled Xavier with a look. "I hope to God you never have to face Lexi again. That shame will hurt you worse than you know." Stepping out of the room I closed the door as he put his head in his hands. Running to meet Matt I grabbed my bag and nodded for Dillon to show us where to unpack. Giving my men the intel I had gathered I let Dillon give us bits and pieces to fill in the gaps. Stopping in front of the wing we would occupying I dismissed my men and told them to get some sleep. Stopping Matt I waited until it was just he and I in the hallway.

"I want you to keep an eye on Xavier. I don't trust him."

"I'll keep an eye and ears on him and to the ground. We will find her."

"I know we will Matt. I just hope we aren't too late." Turning to go into my room I stopped when Matt called my name.

"Can I help you kill him when this over with?" Smiling I turned to look at Matt.

"You can help me kill them both." Before I stepped into the room and closed the door.
