Chase's POV:

A few more classes went by and then came lunch. I quickly throw my books in my locker and take off running down the hall with Josh and Tyler right on my heels.

We get to the cafeteria and rush to get into the lunch line. Yeah, we really like our food. I mean you should have seen us when we didn't eat breakfast or lunch and went out to dinner with all our family's together and we were do hungry we ate the people's food we were sitting next to.

It was funny and Tyler got it on video and posted it on YouTube and it got so many likes and comments. But we mostly didn't eat because it was a dare by The King of The Nerds at our school Garret Needleman. He thought we couldn't do it but he was so wrong and owned us all $20 and still hasn't gone through with his side of the dare, we took care of ours now he needs to take care of his.

I finally get to my table where the rest of my teammates sit and I slap my tray down onto the table.

That wasn't that long ago though. It was only last week or so. So decide to pay Garret a little visit.

I make my way over to his table. I find him their talking to his nerds friends about Chess and comic books and other nerd stuff they usually talk about.

I stand right in front of him and they all look up at him from the comic book they are sharing. Sometimes I wonder about them.

"So Chase Collins. You've decided that being the jock of the school isn't for you so came crawling to us to accept our offer." Garret says pushing his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose

"Yeah sure what about that. I wasn't crawling and I don't want to read comic books and play Chess. I'm hear for my money." I say holding out my hand and he looks down at it and laughs

Ok yes they asked me to join them when we were in what 5th grade and I turned them down and they think I'm coming back to them, they are wrong. They only asked me because they saw my scores on all my texts and homework, which were all A's but now they are more of A's and B's. But oh well I'm still doing good.

I was surprised when Garret reaches into his pocket and pulls out his wallet. He opens it and slaps $60 into my hand.

"For you and you're two...whatever you call them." He says and I give him a smirk then I walk back over to my table with the money clinched in my hand

Yeah me and Garret aren't best friends we are more of people who only talk to each other when we need something. Like last year for example he did my homework for me and I needed it back so I had to get it from him.

"Look what I got." I say waving the money in the air

"Is that the money Garret owes us?" Tyler asks and I nod

"20 for Tyler, 20 for Josh and 20 for me." I say passing the money to Josh and Tyler

I could tell everyone in the cafeteria is staring at us but that's not a surprise to me. We are the jocks of the school, we rule the school. We don't need any girls by our sides, well Jason does. He's the player out of us but some people think it's me, I'm not I have a girlfriend.

Right as I sit down arms wrap around my neck. I look up to see its Sam.

"Why hello to you." I say and she looks down at me and plants a kiss on my lips

Some people think we make the perfect others not so much, they think I can do better than Sam. Someone nicer, kinder, a better heart, smarter than Sam. But I think we are just fine.

She pulls away and smiles her model smile. She seriously could be a model if she tried.

"I just wanted to see how you guys are doing." She says and all of us shrug

"I feel like there is something you guys aren't telling me." She says moving her head next to mine and looking into my eyes

"Yeah there is. Chase needs help from Drama Girl." Tyler blurts out

"Drama Girl? Who's that?" She says standing up straight and taking her off my neck

Now I could feel if I didn't tell her she would just explode. I don't think I mention this but Sam hates when I talk or hang out with, or need help from other girls.

"Take it easy Sam. It's not what you think. I just need a better grade in Science." I say turning around in my chair to face her

She let's out a deep breath and looks at me with her eyes like to say 'ok good.' With that she plants another kiss this time on my cheek then skips off back to her table to join her cheerleading friends.

I spin around in my chair to face my friends again.

"We can see you're not feeling the connection anymore." Jason says stabbing his piece of chicken

It's true! Sam and I have been going out since 8th grade and we are now juniors in high school. But Jason is right the connections seems like it is almost gone and there's no way to get it back.
