Chase's POV:

When my mom said that I couldn't help but smile. I know most parents just want their kids to succeed in life and since my sister hasn't succeeded yet in life, it's my turn to.

"Do you want to tell your father that or should I?" She asks excited.

"You can if you want to. It doesn't matter to me." I say with a shrug.

"OK!" She gets up from the edge of my bed and walks out of my room. After a few minutes I hear my parents since...

1. my mom left my bedroom door open.

2. sound carries easily through our house.

I can tell that my dad is excited because he yells before he runs upstairs and into my room to trap me in a hug that makes every breath escape from my lungs.

"Dad I can't breath." I rasp out and my dad quickly lets go of me and I take a deep breath before I say anything.

"So your mom told me that you want to continue playing sports into college." He says sitting down on my bed and I sit down in my desk chair.

"That's the plan." I say leaning back in my desk chair.

"Did I ever tell you I played not only football but basketball too in college." He says and he seems like he is getting a little cocky...just a little.

"Yeah...you have told us many times."

It's a true fact, whenever either my sister or I talk about college our parents join in saying how college was the best four years of their lives, partying, sports, friends, classes, etc. But every time my dad talks about his college 'glory days' he goes on rant saying how he was the so called man on campus, being on the football and basketball team. He also talked about this hot cheerleader he dated and yes the cheerleader was my mom.

"Oh. What haven't I told you about my college days?"

"Dad it's ok...I'm still only a junior in highschool."

"I know that Chase but this is the year where people start coming up with a plan of where they want to go, what they want to do. Have you even looked at any colleges?"

At first this talked was funny and didn't have a serious side to it but thank you dad for pulling out the serious card.

"No I haven't dad. I've been too focused on school and sports that I haven't looked at colleges."

It's not a lie, I've been quite busy.

"Ok well I'll leave you to your studies since I see you have quite a bit to get done." He says nodding to my books stacked on my desk.

He leaves my room but unlike my mother he closes my bedroom door and I decide I should get back to my homework.

Jody's POV:

"Can I know what you guys talked about? Pleeeeaaaasssseeee!!" Jessie begs

"Ok fine. So he was the one to Facetime me and he seemed a little down and well he parents kind of got him worried for nothing." I say

"How so?"

"Well they made him think they were getting divorced when really his older sister was just moving out and in with her boyfriend."

"Interesting." She says nodding.

"So anything new with you...any boys in your life?"

"Besides my dad, brother and the kids I babysit...no. I live a sad life compared to you."

"Dude before this year I didn't really have a life besides doing the plays and musicals at school." I say laughing a little.

"Yeah that's true." She says nodding her head. "Do you want to do something? I'm tired of just sitting here trying to do homework. Notice how I said I'm trying to do homework."

"Wow...it's like you don't even want to go to college."

"I don't. We both know that I will most likely not get into college and if I do it will be a college where everyone gets in."

"Don't set yourself short. If you ever need help, I will help you. I'm not graduating without you."

"That's sweet Jody, but I'm sure I'm going to fail junior year."

Jessie isn't much into studying...or anything that has to do with school but I know deep down there is actually some smarts in her, I just need to help her out.

"Tell you what. We can go to the mall and help you study at the same time." I say excitedly

"How?" She says confused

"With a studying montage like how they do in tv shows."

I know what you are thinking, this is a tv show Jody. Well I know that but I feel like this will really help my friend since she is into shopping.

"I admit it sounded kind of stupid but let's try it! I'll pick you up in 10 minutes!"

"Sounds good."

We end the FaceTime call and I gather has much studying material as I can along with my phone and purse and head downstairs to wait for Jessie to get here.

I see her car pull up into my driveway after a few minutes of waiting and I rush to the front door and yell to my parents that I'm leaving and run out the door to Jessie's car.

"Let's do this!" She says as she puts the car in reverse.

Get ready for a studying montage everyone! We pull into the mall parking lot and hop out of the car and run towards the entrance.

"OK first let's start with your weakest subject." I say opening the studying material to the Math section. If I wasn't her best friend I wouldn't know about her worst and best subjects...I most likely wouldn't know anything about her.

Jessie takes off walking towards one of her favorite stores, Forever 21, and I quickly follow after her carrying the study material.

"Jessie you ready to shop and study?" I ask as she looks through a rack of clothes that are on sell.

"Ready as I'll ever be." She mutters sounding not thrilled at all.
