Chase's POV:

I admit as it got closer to 7 o'clock I was starting to freak out more and more. I wanted to make this date perfect for Jody because she deserves it after dating Garret, which I still have no idea how that relationship even happened, I mean Jody is so nice and sweet and then there's Garret he's the opposite, he's cold blooded or so people say. But I want to make it better than any date he took her on.

I think of things we could do on the date...go out to eat, go to the movies, surprise with something special to her. It's just hard because I don't know her that well but I know whatever I have planned she will like it whether or not it's something she's into or not.

Then the idea pops into my head. Take her to a place special to me because I know I can trust her with being there. I know you are probably thinking that I'll take her to the football field where I had my very first football game way back when I was 5 years old...no I'm not going to do that to her.

I'm going to first take her out to dinner and then after I'm going to take her to my special place, it's this bridge that overlooks a lake and you can see the sunset. I usually go there when I get stressed out and need some time to myself. I sometimes even go there before games to calm myself down, you know those pregame jitters.

But I think that's what I'll do, take her to dinner and then take her to my special place. Sounds like a plan and I hopefully she will like it. Hopefully. It gets even closer to 7 o'clock and I decide to get ready by taking a shower and putting on some fairly decent clothes.

Once I'm out of the shower, dressed and ready to go, my sister walks into my room again. "So what is lover boy doing tonight?" She asks closing my bedroom door and leans up against it.

"Why does Miss Moving Out want to know?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Because you are dressed fancier than you usually are." She says looking me up and down. "Are you taking that girl out on a date?"

"Why does it matter to you?" I ask pushing past her to get out of my room. "You don't need to know everything happening in my life."

She follows me out of my room and downstairs. "Well you are my brother so if you don't tell me I'll find a way to figure out what's going on in your life."

I stop at the bottom of the stairs, turn around and look at her. "If you really want to know so badly I am taking her on a date."

Her jaw drops and I leave her standing there as I grab my car keys and walk out the door to pick up Jody.

Jody's POV:

We race back to my house from the mall and as soon as we pull into the driveway Jessie pulls me out of the car and up into my house and into my room.

"Ok we need to find you something to wear!" Jessie says before she starts going through my closet and drawers to find something to wear for my date with Chase.

I still can't believe he asked me out on a date. We are completely different, he's popular and so many people know him and then there's me, I'm the opposite. Not very many people know me, mostly just the drama kids but now since I'm spending some with Chase some of his teammates know who I am.

"I don't need to wear anything super fancy, we probably won't do much." I say as I watch her tear apart my room to find an outfit for me. "I think what I'm wearing would be fine."

She looks back at me gives me a disgusted look and turns back to my closet until she finds an outfit.

"Here try this on." She says handing me a black skirt and a white crop top and I walk into the bathroom and change.

I come out a few minutes and she looks me up and down before she tells me to turn around. "Well how do I look?" I ask facing her.

"Perfect! Chase is going to think you look hot." She says and I shake my head.

"You are so weird." I say shaking my head at her.

"What you want to look good for him because we both know you like him."

"Still I just think this might be a little over the top." I say motioning to my outfit. Then I hear the doorbell ring and we both look at each other and freeze. "He's here."

Jessie rushes over to my window and pulls back the curtains. "Yeah he is and let me tell you, he dressed up!"

"Hello is Jody home?" His voice carries upstairs.

I can feel my heartbeat faster in my chest. 'Oh god what if I say something stupid!'

"Jody someone is here to see you!" My mom calls.

"Ok I'll be right down." I yell back. I look at Jessie. "So how do I look?"

She gives me two thumbs up and I laugh before I walk out of my room and downstairs. I see him and my mom waiting at the door. He's standing there dressed nicely with his hair nicely combed. It's cute how he tried but he didn't have to.

"Hey." I say once I get to the bottom of the stairs.

"Hey." He smiles looking at me.

"Well you two have fun." My mom says and together we walk outside and my mom closes the door behind us.

"That was probably the most awkward conversation I've ever had with a parent." He says and I laugh.

"I'm so sorry. My mom well...she can be...I guess the right word for this is weird." I say and he laughs.

He opens the car door for me and I hop in. He walks around the other side and sits in the drivers seat. He carefully puts his hand on my cheek, looks deep into my eyes and slowly leans in for a kiss. Our lips touch and I swear sparks were flying. I couldn't help but smile into the kiss.

I never thought it would be possible but here I am kissing the most popular guy in school, the quarterback for the football team, the one the only Chase Collins.

We break the kiss and look at each other. "So where are we going?" I ask

"That's a surprise you'll find the answer to soon." He winks before he starts the car and drives off.
