Jody's POV:

"Ok, if I gave you this equation. How do you solve it?" I ask showing her the problem.

"Wouldn't you first subtract 7 from both sides and then divide by 3 so the answer is 1?" Jessie asks as if she isn't sure of herself.

"That's correct!"

"No way!" She says excitedly and I nod my head. "I actually did a problem right!"

When she says that some people in the store look at us like we are weird which isn't a lie knowing us but we ignore them and I continue giving Jessie some problems to answer. The good thing is she continues to get them right.

"See Jessie, you know how to do these. Don't ever sell yourself short." I say. "OK what subject do you want to practice next?"

"Let's do Chemistry." She says moving onto the next rack of clothes.

"Ok." I say following and trying to open up my Chemistry notes. I admit it would be a lot easier if we didn't do this whole studying at the mall thing. But hey it's too late to quit now.

I start asking Jessie some Chemistry questions and let's just say she isn't as good with them as she was with the math questions, but it will all come in time.

"Can you repeat the question?" She asks turning to me.

"What is Magnesium's charge?" I ask looking at her.

The look on her face is full concentration, not just partially. I don't think I've ever seen her think this hard.

"Well it's in the second column of the periodic table so it's charge would be +2?"

Her answer comes out more as a question rather than an answer. "Is that your final answer?" I ask and she slowly nods her head.

"Yup that's right."

"OK good! For a second you made me think I got it wrong." She says and I laugh.

Then my phone starts ringing in my pocket. Both of us freeze and look at each other before we look down at my pocket. I slowly stick my hand into my pocket and pull out my phone.

I look at the caller and my eyes grow to the size of softballs...it's Chase.

Chase's POV:

Homework did not last long, I couldn't focus for the life of me. Since I told my parents I wanted to continue playing sports into college. They come into my room what seems like every 5 minutes or so. To keep them from doing that I locked my bedroom door so they couldn't come in and talk about their 'glory days' in college.

It gets to the point where I get so bored and tired of homework I decide on calling Jody. It rings a few times till the call finally goes through.

"Hello?" She answers

"Hey it's Chase!" I say

"What's up?"

"Uh...well I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight?" I ask scratching the back of my neck.

She doesn't for a few minutes so I'm left waiting for an answer to my question. Then her voice comes back on.

"You still there?" She asks

"Yeah I'm still here."

"I would love to hang out with you."

"Great! I'll see you later!" I say before I hang up. Once I hang up the phone I literally jump out of my chair pumping my fists into the air. "She said yes!"

Then my bedroom door opens and my sister is standing in the doorway holding a key in her hand. "Who said yes?"

I freeze in the middle of my bedroom and look at my sister.

"Uh just one of my friends from football." I lie

"But you said she." She points out.

"OK...fine. There's this girl I kind of like and she's in my grade. She's really cool, smart, talented, funny, sweet, caring, kind, just an all around an amazing person. She's someone I can be myself around."

Man...it sounds like I could be writing a love letter to her.

"Does this all around amazing person happen to be the girl you went to see at the play?" She crosses her arms over her chest and raises an eyebrow at me.

"Maybe...why do you all of the sudden care about my love life? Mrs. I'm moving in with my boyfriend."

She narrows her eyes at me before turning on her heel and walking down the hall to her room.

"You forgot to close my door!" I yell and the response I get is her door closing. "Fine, make me close my own door." I mutter as I get up to close my door.

I'll admit though I don't even know how I was able to ask Jody to hang out. I know it's nothing crazy but I don't think any girl as made me feel the way I feel when I'm with her. It just seems right, it seems magical...it seems perfect. Everything my relationship with Sam was not.

Then slowly my thoughts drift to Sam. She was always about her, she only talked about herself. She never even asked me how I was feeling or anything like. But Jody she's different, she actually cares about others before herself. She took time out of her own day to help me study for Science. Sam would never do that.

Jody's POV:

I hung up the phone and look at Jessie. My eyes must have been the size of softballs. "What?" She asks concerned.

"Chase just asked me out." I say surprised. I honestly didn't think this would happen whatsoever.

"You are kidding."

"No I'm now."

Both of us smile and ok this is going to sound stupid but we both did a happy dance.

"We need to get you home...now! You have a date to get ready for." She says pulling me out of the store and towards the exit of the mall.

"But what about studying." I say

"Oh studying can wait...you are finally going on a date after Garret...this is awesome!"
