Chase's POV:
There's always at moment when you think something is going to happen but it doesn't...well this isn't the case in this situation.I walk over and sit down next to my mom. I admit I'm scared for what she is about to say.
She sucks in a breath before she finally speaks. "You sister is moving out of the house and is moving in with her boyfriend."
"That's what you are worried about. I thought you guys are getting divorced." I snap as I stand up from my chair. I stand up a little too quickly and the chair falls to the floor.
"Don't worry honey, we aren't." My mom says trying to grab my hand but I pull it out of her reach.
I feel it's best for me to leave so I walk over to where my backpack is laying on the floor and pick it up and stomp upstairs to my room. They got me worried for nothing.
Just my stupid sister moving in with her boyfriend who is always drunk and wasted.
I get to my room and slam my bedroom door behind.
I need to talk to someone. I pull out my phone and scroll through my contacts till I find Jody. My thumb hovers over her name till I finally get the courage to FaceTime her.
I put my phone on my desk and sit in my chair and wait.
Finally she answers.
"Hey, everything ok?" She asks sounding concerned.
"Yeah I'm fine. My parents just got my worried for nothing." I sigh leaning back in my chair. "I needed to talk about it so I called you."
"What did they worry you about?" She asks as she pulls a binder from her backpack.
"I thought my parents were getting divorced. But instead my sister is moving out and is moving in with her boyfriend." I sigh as I run my hands through my hair.
"Oh wow."
"So enough about me. What's up with you?"
"Not much just working on homework." She says putting her hair into a ponytail.
"Well I'll leave you to it, have a nice night." I say running my hands through my hair.
"Ok see you tomorrow!" With that I end the FaceTime call with her and start working on my own homework.
I'll just be honest with you now, it's probably not going to go well. After about an hour of trying to do my homework I give up. I slam my textbook closed on my desk and then there's a knock at my bedroom door.
"Yes?"
"Chase, honey. Can I come in?" My mom asks
I sigh and spin around in my chair to where it faces my bedroom door. "Come in."
The door creaks open and my mom walks inside. I could tell by the look on her face she wasn't to pleased by my room. My room is probably one of the messiest rooms in our house, if not one of the messiest. It's the messiest.
She sits down on the edge of my bed. "I know your father and I made you worry but honey, don't worry your father and I are just fine. You have better things to focus on then our relationship. You have to think about what you want to do after highschool, where you want to go. All that stuff."
She's right, I'm halfway through my junior year of highschool and I need to start applying to colleges and figure out if I want to continue playing sports in college or not. But let's be honest here guys, Sports Boy is always going to play sports. I mean come on, if I stopped playing sports. I would lose a part of myself.
"Chase...is everything ok?" I guess I must have zoned out thinking about college because my mom waves her hand in front of my face and it draws me back to the real world.
"Yeah...I'm sorry. I was just thinking about what I want to do after highschool." I say rubbing the back of my neck. "I think I may want to continue playing sports."
She seems a little shocked when I say that but the expression quickly disappears and is replaced with a big smile. "Whatever you do, just know your father and I will always support you."
Jody's POV:
Ever since I got the letter saying that my performance in Romeo and Juliet was the best the Professor has seen in a long time, I can't help but wonder if I apply to the college he teaches at I would have a higher chance at getting in.I think about my future and what I want to do for a few minutes until my phone starts buzzing on my desk and I see it's Chase.
Hmmm that's weird he usually doesn't call or FaceTimes me, he usually texts me. But I decide to answer anyway.
We talk for a little while until we say our goodbyes and end the FaceTime call. Then I dig into my homework.
But that doesn't last long, after about 5 or so minutes of doing homework I give up and text Jessie.
'Hey Jes!' I type and send her
The few minutes I wait for her to type is agonizing. You know the dots that come up when someone is typing on an iPhone well...it seemed like it took her forever just to say hi.
'Hey girl.' She replies after what seems like 5 hundred years. 'What's up?? Anything juicy?!'
I tap my chin deciding on whether or not I should tell her about my FaceTime call with Chase. 'Well she is my best friend and I tell her everything.'
I decide to tell her since you know that's what friends do.
'Chase FaceTimed me.'
'He FaceTimed you.' She says with the shocked emoji. Yeah she uses a lot of emojis and I mean a lot.
Right as I'm about to reply to her she FaceTimes me.
I answer the call and prop my phone up so she can see me.
"Ok I need the whole story now...right now. Every little detail. Go!" She says excitedly and I can't help but smile and shake my head.
Ever since I dated the so called 'bad boy' at our school I thought after that ended I wouldn't ever and I mean EVER...get a boyfriend again. But maybe...just maybe things might be turning around for me.
"Sooo...come on spill. I need to hear what happened. There's nothing going on in my life right now." She whines
"There isn't much to tell here, he FaceTimed me and we talked...that's it." I say. The thing is that's the truth, there wasn't much more than that. That was it. Or is there something more behind the scenes that I don't even know.
