Chapter 10

Jody's POV:

Chase's sister walks into the room and whispers something, I wonder what it is but I'm guessing I won't find out.

"What was that all about?" I ask pointing after his sister

"It's my sister who knows." Chase says smiling as he sits down next to me so we can continue.

I look at my phone to see Jessie has called me 10 times and left me 100 messages, such a protective friend she is. Yet I also look at the time to see it's almost 6.

"Holy crap!" I say shocked.

"What?" Chase asks worried.

"It's just, the time is 6 and I should go home." I say getting up from my seat.

"Alright. Do you need a ride home?" He asks.

"No I'm fine, thanks." I say walking into the living room and grabbing my back pack.

"You're sure?" He asks.

This is just cute that he keeps asking if I need a ride. I don't need a ride since I only live a block away.

"I'm sure. But thanks." I say throwing my back pack onto my shoulder and start walking towards the door.

"Ok. Do you want to do this some other time?" He asks opening the front door and leans on it.

"Sure. We'll talk later." I say smiling and he nods and returns the smile.

I exit his house and start walking down the driveway and I look over my shoulder to see him watching me and send him a wave and he smiles and waves back.

I continue my walk home passing the house of Old Man Frank, a man who never comes out of his house. The only time I saw him come out was when I was younger and he yelled at us to be quiet and I haven't seen him since.

I get home and throw open the front door and my brothers tackle my legs.

"Hey guys! I guess you missed me." I say laughing.

"Uh yeah sure." They both say getting off my legs.

That's my brothers, nice and caring one minute, rude and weird the next. But hey I've got to love them.

"I'm going to get you." I say throwing my back pack onto the couch and start chasing after them.

I chase them till they run into my room and hop on my bed and I hop on the bed too and start tickling them.

"Ah Jody stop." Tyler says laughing.

"Yeah come on Jody stop." Max says and I stop.

"Thank you." They say breathless.

"You guys love me. You just don't want to say it." I say as they sit up. "Come on say it."

"We love you Jody." They chime.

"Alright you may leave." I say and they run out.

I close my bedroom door behind them and lay down on my bed and look up at my bedroom ceiling. I keep thinking about Chase and why he kept asking me for a ride.
