Early in the morning
When the sun had risen
The mind lay dormant
Trapped within its prison
A land of make-believe
Dreaming wondrous feelings
Where I can do anything
Leap higher than these ceilings
The it's all cut short
By an incessant red light
Right before the end
My last heroic fight
Sweating, pounding, faintly
Hear the keeper coming
Shaking, freezing, daintily
Hear the drummer drumming
Launch back into the dream
Run from all I know out here
Mind is tearing at the seam
That holds the final tear
