Chapter 100

“Rachel hold still,” Natalie scolded me.
“Have you seen Greyson yet?” I asked.
“No, I have not, now stop moving!” Natalie said as she and the other hairdresser curled my hair, neatly putting it up.
“Greyson’s here!” Alli said as she walked over to us. “He’s outside with Cody and everyone else. Are you aware he’s wearing a beatles shirt?”
I rolled my eyes. “His tux is in Cody’s car. Make him put it on.”
    She laughed, “Got it,”

“There!” The hairdresser with a French accent said and backed away.
“Oh my gosh Rachel it’s perfect.” Natalie smiled at her work.
There was a girl there to help me with my dress. I stepped into it and slid it on. It fit perfectly. I’d have to remember to thank Cody again later. I looked in the mirror as Natalie placed the tiara and veil onto my head.
“One more thing,” Natalie said. I gave her a confused look and she held up a wedding garter.
“Oh dear god.” I laughed as Natalie slid it on my right leg, above my knee.
I kept looking down at my finger. Greyson had taken my “Foreve_” ring last month. Why, I’m not sure.
“Rachel,” I heard a soft voice say. I turned around to find my Aunt standing in the doorway.
“Hi,” I smiled. She walked in, closing the door behind her. She reached into her pocket and pulled something out.
“It was your mom’s.” She explained as she slid the small blue clip into my hair. “I thought you’d like to wear it today.”
I smiled and hugged her. “Thank you.” I whispered.

There was still an hour left until the wedding started. Natalie and the rest of the bridesmaids were all dressed in their light purple dresses. Originally the wedding colors were just black and white, but I decided we needed some color. So we went with Purple.
    I was shaking. Bad.
“Hey Rachel, you ok?” Natalie asked from the other side of the room.
“Huh? Oh. Yeah I’m fine.” I nodded.
“Probably just nerves.” Alli said, handing me a cup of water.
“Yeah,” I agreed. Taking the cup.
“He is so going to cry when he sees you.” Natalie stood up and came to sit next to me.
    “I doubt it,” I laughed.
“Oh no, he will.” Alli agreed with Natalie. I rolled my eyes and smiled at them.
There was a light knock on the door before Cody poked his head in.
“Greyson would like to speak to the bride.”
“He can’t see her until the wedding starts. It’s like, a rule.” Natalie shrugged as she played with her own engagement ring.
“Then they’ll talk through a door.” Cody shrugged.
Everyone turned to look at me.
“Well, he can’t see me, but I guess that doesn’t mean he can’t speak to me.” I said as I stood up. Truth is, I wanted to talk to him too. I followed Cody down the hallway. There was a photographer following us. There were several of them all around.
“Stay right here,” Cody said with a smile. We had stopped in front of large double doors. Cody opened one and I stood with my back against the closed door.
“Hey Rachel,” I heard Greyson’s voice say.
“Hi,” I said back, a smile covering my face. Cody walked down the hall, just out of ear shot.
    “How are you?”
“Never been better. How are you?”
“Perfect,” I could hear the smile in his voice when he answered.
    “How’s Jeydon?” I asked.
“He’s good. He’s hanging out with my dad.”
    There was a short pause.
“Can you believe we’re finally getting married?” Greyson whispered.
    “I’m here and I don’t believe it.” I laughed.
“I really wish I could kiss you right now.”
    “Me too,”
    Another short pause.
    “Hey, Greyson close your eyes.”
    “Um... ok?”
    “Are they closed?”
    “Yeah,”
I stepped out from behind the door, covering his eyes with my hand in case he tried to peak, and quickly kissed him before disappearing behind the door again.
“I’m going to go back now, ok?”
    There was no answer. “Greyson?”
    “Okay,”
    “I love you,”
    “I love you more,”
    I smiled, “See you soon.”

    --------------------------------------

“I am going to throw up.” I stated, standing behind the door of the tent.
“No you’re not, it’s just nerves, you’re fine Rachel, this is your day.” Natalie smiled at me.
I couldn’t think right. Everything was moving really fast until finally, just little Lydia had disappeared behind the curtain, tossing flower petals as she walked. She walked down the isle holding hands with Jeydon, who was holding a pillow with Greyson and I’s rings.
Jake took my arm and we stepped out, slowly walking down the runway. Everyone was standing, the Bridal March was being played by some professional pianist on the corner of the stage. I looked at all the guests faces before turning to see the one person in this room that mattered most to me.
Greyson was staring back at me with tears in his eyes. I saw Cody whisper “She’s Beautiful,” to him. He just smiled bigger in response. I smiled when our eyes met.  It felt like too much time had gone by before we reached the end of the isle onto the larger platform. Jake turned the veil up and kissed my cheek before going to take his seat next to Greyson’s parents. Natalie fixed the veil quickly and quietly so it looked perfect. I stood, facing Greyson.
    “Gorgeous.” He mouthed to me.
The whole time the minister spoke, I just stared at Greyson, unable to keep the smile from my face.
I didn’t pay much attention to the “We are gathered here today..” speech, or anything after that until Greyson took my hand and the attention was directed to him.
“Greyson, do you take Rachel whom you now hold by the hand to be your lawful wedded wife? Do you promise to love and cherish her, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you both shall live?”
“I Do.” He said clearly, locking his eyes to mine.
“Rachel, do you take Greyson whom you now hold by the hand to be your lawful wedded husband? Do you promise to love and cherish him, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him, for so long as you both shall live?”
“I Do,” I said, my voice just above a whisper.
“The rings please,” The man said, and little Jeydon walked forward in his cute little tux, handing the man the pillow.
"The wedding ring is a symbol of eternity. It is an outward sign of an inward and spiritual bond which unites two hearts in endless love. And now as a token of your love and of your deep desire to be forever united in heart and soul, you Greyson, may place a ring on the finger of your bride."
Greyson took a quiet deep breath, "Rachel, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you." His hand was shaking as he slid the ring onto my finger. I stared at it for a minute.
It was my ring. He had taken our Foreve_ rings and turned them into wedding bands. I smiled at it for a minute before looking up to him, tears in my eyes.
"By the same token Rachel, you may place a ring on the finger of your groom."
"Greyson, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you.” I said, placing it onto his finger.
"By the authority vested in me by the State of California, witnessed by your friends and family, I have the pleasure to pronounce you husband and wife."
He barely had time to say You may now kiss the bride before I felt Greyson’s lips crash against mine. I kissed back, pulling away after a few seconds, officially crying.
“And now, ladies and gentlemen, I now have the pleasure of presenting to you, Mr. and Mrs. Greyson Chance!”
-----------------------
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Greyson and Rachel Chance!” The Dj announced Greyson and I as we walked out, hand in hand.
They all clapped and after they settled down into their seats, Greyson and I went around, table to table. Everyone said something along the lines of “congratulations!”. Between everyone from Greyson’s family, the little family members I had, and all the friends and extra people who showed up, there were more people than I thought there would be. Going around to each table took forever, but finally Greyson and I made it back to our seats at the head table. I sat next to Greyson in the center, with Cody to my right. Natalie was to Greyson’s left, and the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen sat down in boy girl boy girl order.

“Do you like your ring?” Greyson asked quietly while everyone else was getting their food.
“Oh my goodness, yes! It’s perfect Greyson. This whole day is perfect. Thank you so much.”
There were a series of silverware clinking on glasses at the sight of Greyson and I talking.
“They want us to kiss.” Greyson informed me before leaning in, lightly pressing his lips to mine. The whole room exploded with cheers. Greyson and I smiled and continued eating.
“I have a few words to say,” Cody stood up from next to me.
    “Oh no,” Greyson mumbled.
“Now,” Cody started, “I could tell you about all the times when little Greyson here was 13 and talked nonstop about ‘this girl he saw at a concert’ or how many times I’ve walked into his room while he’s sleeping and he’ll mumble her name.” There was a few chuckles from the crowed as Greyson’s face went pink. “But I guess I wont. Instead, I’ll tell you that I have never seen Greyson as happy as he is now with Rachel. It’s good you found her, mate.” Cody smiled and sat down as everyone clapped. That’s when Natalie stood up.
“I have a few words about Rachel,” Natalie giggled. I knew I was in trouble. “When we were both 13, before the concert and all that, every time I would go over to her house there was a new Greyson Chance poster on her wall. We’d laugh and joke about how one day she’d meet him and they’d fall in love. She used to write fanfictions about it,”
“Oh my god.” I whispered. Greyson turned to me with a crooked smile.
“She would lay on the floor and plan out her whole future with this singer. At the time all it was, was a dream. I never expected any of this to happen, but I am so incredibly grateful it did. Rachel is an amazing girl and deserves someone like Greyson. Congratulations guys.” Natalie smiled at us and sat down as everyone clapped.

--------------

“Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bride and Groom’s first dance!”
Greyson held my hand and led me to the dance floor. Everyone just watched as You and Me by Lifehouse started playing. Greyson put his hands on my waist and I put mine loosely around his neck.
“I didn’t know you could dace.” I whispered to him.
He half smiled, “I can’t. It’s called faking it.”
“Well you seem to be doing all right,”
He sighed, “Ok you caught me, all those times I said I was going to see Cody, I was taking dance lessons so I wouldn’t fall on you.”
I tried not to laugh, “You’re so cute, you know that?”
“You’re beautiful, did you know that?”
I blushed and looked away for a brief second.
“I love you so much, Rachel.”
“I love you too,” I leaned my head on his chest, fighting back more tears.
My name is Rachel Chance now, and I’ve never, ever been this happy.
Greyson kissed me, lifting me up and spinning me once, and everyone else clapped when the song ended. Jake walked up to Greyson.
“May I dance with my sister?” He asked. Greyson smiled, handing me over.
I hope you dance started playing. It wasn’t one of my favorite songs, but Jake had picked it.
“You look beautiful,” Jake smiled at me.
    “Thank you,” I smiled back.
“Even though I haven’t been here for you these past few years, giving you away to him is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But he’s a good kid, and I’m glad you married him.”
“Thank You,” I whispered. I felt like I’ve been crying all day and surly I’d run out of tears sooner or later.
“Why’d you pick this song?” I asked him quietly as we danced.
“When you were twelve, you had a dance recital, correct?”
    I nodded, I remembered that.
“Well, I was there. I snuck in just in time to watch you come on stage, dancing to this song. Whenever I’d be deployed, or when I’d try to find you but failed, I remembered you dancing up there and it gave me hope.”
I didn’t know what to say, instead I just stopped dancing and hugged him, crying.
After our song was done (We only danced to around two minutes of it, considering it was a 5 minute long song), Greyson and his mom walked out. They danced as Lisa cried. I stood by Cody and Natalie, almost in more tears myself. After that we all danced for awhile before cutting the cake.
Greyson ended up shoving a piece in my face, so I did the same to him. We were both laughing through the whole thing. I thought Natalie was going to have a heart attack though. The second the cake started to be passed out, she came over to me and quickly redid my makeup.
As people were finishing their cake, there was more dancing going on. I danced with Greyson some more, Cody, Jeydon, Natalie, Alli, Jake, Justin. There seemed to be a line of people wanting to dance with Greyson and I.
While I was dancing, Natalie took both Greyson and I by the arm and pulled us over to a chair Cody had placed near the front of the dance floor.
“Oh gosh.” I mumbled as I remembered the wedding garter Natalie had put on my leg earlier.
Natalie sat me down in the chair and Greyson stood with a smirk on his face as she walked away. Some really embarrassing music started playing as people gathered around to watch. Greyson disappeared under my dress, causing my face to go pink. A moment later I felt his fingers lightly trace down my leg, pulling off the garter. I laughed along with everyone else when Greyson came out from under my dress, swinging the garter back and forth with a smile. He leaned down to face me, lightly kissing me once before pulling away.
“Rachel you gotta throw the bouquet now,” Natalie pulled me up from my chair and over to the center of the floor.
“Ok everybody this is how it’s going to work.” I called, smiling. “I’m going to do this a bit different. Ladies, If you’re not married or engaged, the get over here.”
I turned around so my back was to them, tossing the bouquet over my shoulder, turning around to see who caught it.
Jasmine V was standing there holding the flowers in her hand, smiling. Everyone clapped and I gave her a hug while Greyson took my spot in the center of the room.
“Okay guys, you know the drill.” Greyson said as he turned around throwing my garter over his shoulder. I watched as it easily fell into Justin’s hands. People clapped as Greyson made his way back to me.
Everyone else continued to dance to some of my old favorite songs such as So Listen, Live My Life, and End of the World. Greyson and I, though, were sitting together at a table in the corner of the room.
“You look absolutely breathtaking, Mrs. Chance.” Greyson whispered to me.
I blushed and bit my lip. “Thank You, Greyson.”
“No,” He shook his head. “Thank You. For everything you’ve ever done for me. Thank You for marrying me today, Thank You for being there all these years.. just Thank You. I wouldn’t ever want to be with anyone else.”
“You won’t ever have to be. Foreve, remember?” I smiled at him, pointing to our rings.
“Foreve sounds damn good to me.” He whispered, leaning in before lightly pressing his lips to mine.

            The End.
