-James' POV-
I feel heartbroken. I feel lost. I feel lonely; but at the same time...
I feel relieved.
It's like a thousand weights have finally lifted from my heart.
"Don't worry man, you're gonna find your princess soon." Tris reassured, trying to comfort me.
"Thank you guys. I really hope so. But for now, let's have fun." I tried to smile, Brad patted my back and shouted something like he's going to dance with Ingrid.
"Let's go back to our table and GET DRUNK!!!!" Tris shouted, causing me to laugh.
He led me back to our table, and that was when I realise the unknown girl was still there. She was reading something on her phone, not aware of anything that's happening around her.
"Who's that?" I asked Tristan, pointing at her.
"That's Kylie's cousin, Nicole." Nicole's focus turned towards us when she heard her own name.
Me being the gentleman, spoke up first. "Hi, I'm James McVey." I half smiled at her politely.
"I'm Nicole, Kylie's cousin from Australia." she reached her hand out to shake with mine. I guess it's a good thing to meet someone new now, get my mind off things for a bit.
We sat there in silence as we waited for the others to come back with out drinks and stuff. I used this time to observe Nicole.
She has very pale skin, maybe even paler than Tristan. Her ginger ombre hair makes the freckles on her cheeks visible, even in a place as dark as the club we're at, I can skill see them clearly. The shape of her nose looks similar to Kylie, probably because she's her cousin. Her eyes are hazel coloured, and her lips looks naturally pouty.
"What are you looking at?" she asked sassily, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"Who said I was looking at you?" I sassed back.
"I never said you were looking at me. But I know I'm irresistible." she winked, laughing at me stunned expression.
I cleared my throat awkwardly. "So Nicole, what brings you here?" I started talking as all the other couples came back, joining in.
"Kylie's family came to visit and they know how close Kylie and I am, so they invited me to join their trip. I graduated from university recently so this is also a chance for me to travel and learn some new things."
"How about your family?" Ella asked, sipping on her drink.
"My parents divorced when I was 3, so I stayed with my mother while my father remarried and moved to the US. Sometimes he would come and visit my mother and I during holidays. It's hard to believe that after they've divorced they can still stay in such a friendly relationship." Nicole smiled, looking around the table. "My father, his wife and their three sons kept in touch with my mother and I all these years. Their three sons are like the younger brothers I've never had and I love them to pieces. My mother met my stepdad three years ago and remarried too, and we are like a real family. So yeah, even though my parents decided to part their own ways, doesn't mean life sucks because I honestly love my life right now."
We all smiled, her story is different from other girls I've met and her point of view towards her parents' relationship is positive. I can tell she's a very optimistic person.
"Your point of view towards this whole thing is just, wow. If my parents divorced and remarried, I'd hate them forever. BUT, of course I know they're not gonna divorce, they love each other so much even after all these years." Victoria cheered as the others nodded.
"How long are you planning on staying?" Ingrid changed the topic, and asked curiously.
Nicole smirked at Kylie, "you remember when your parents said they were staying here for 2 weeks but I might be staying longer..." she trailed off. Kylie's beautiful smile widened. "I might move in with you, girl!" Nicole cheered and Kylie embraced her.
"Oh my god I can't believe you didn't tell me earlier!" Kylie shouted as we all laughed at her reaction. She looks beautiful, but somehow my gaze fell back to the ginger beauty beside her.
"I was gonna keep it as a secret and tell you before I was suppose to leave but I guess I can't keep a secret." Nicole winked.
She's cheeky and sassy, I like it.
