-Kylie's POV-
I stared at Connor with amusement in my eyes. He's so different from when I first met him. He actually didn't stutter while talking to my parents?
"Kylie?" my mum called, snapping me out of my trance. Connor and my dad chuckled at my behaviour, making me blush.
"Is dinner ready? Everyone's hungry." my mum asked, and that's when I realise everyone was standing from their spots in the living room, looking at me.
"Uh, yeah. You guys can sit down while I get the food out." I smiled and walked into the kitchen where the food was ready. I can hear my parents still talking to Connor.
"I hope you take good care of my daughter." I heard my dad say sternly.
"I will, sir."
"And please don't hurt her. She might look like a strong and independent girl, but she's not as mature as you think she is." another voice said. It was my mum.
"Don't worry, I would never hurt her." Connor's reply made my heart skip a beat.
I heard footsteps walking into the kitchen. I was about to turn around when I feel the person wrap their arms around me.
Connor placed a soft kiss on my neck, causing my breathing to quicken. "Babe?" I asked, my voice shaky. Connor chuckled again before turning me around.
"Yes love?" he asked, looking so innocent.
"Your performance just now amazed me, where was that shy boy I first met?" I laughed, placing a soft kiss on his cheek before heading out the kitchen.
"I was trying to impress them, I guess it worked." he smiled shyly as he walked out with me, holding plates too.
I only cooked some very simple dishes. Lasagna, some potato salad and bread pudding for dessert. It's the three dishes that I'm most confident in making and by the look on their faces I know they really enjoyed the meal.
We were all about to dig in when my dad stood up, "I know everyone here is starving but could I make a quick speech before we eat?"
"Firstly, I would like to thank you, Joanne and Jacques, for welcoming my daughter to your cafe and taking care of her like her second parents. I hope she didn't cause too much trouble during this time."
"Secondly, I would like to thank all of Kylie's new friends here. I know you guys hang out a lot and have loads of fun and it reminds me of the old times when I was young." he laughed. "Not that I'm not having fun now."
"Last but not least, I would like to thank Kylie for cooking dinner for us tonight, I'm sure the food is finally edible." everyone in the room laughed while I playfully glared at him.
And with that, everybody cheered and started digging in.

"Dinner was wonderful, dear." my mum thanked me as she was putting her shoes on.
"Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but Kylie, your cooking has improved a lot during these few months." my dad laughed again, and my mum giggled.
"Right, we'll see you tomorrow at the cafe for lunch, right?" my mum asked. It's nine thirty in the evening now and they're leaving because my dad has work tomorrow morning and Celia is very tired from the flight today.
I nodded before hugging them, saying goodbye.
I went back into the living room and Joanne and Jacques was getting up too. "I guess it's time for us elderlies to leave too." they joked, saying goodbye and catching up with my parents who were still outside waiting for the elevator.
"Anyone wanna go out for a drink?" Tristan asked and all of us nodded.
"I'll pass. I'm really tired." Nicole being the party pooper, suddenly said.
"Aw c'mon Nicole! It's your first night here! Just come with us please?" Ingrid pouted. The two of them got along very well which I'm happy about.
"Fine." we all went out and I texted James, telling him which club we're going to. He replied with a 'I'll be there soon'.
We walked for around 20 minutes before we arrive a very small and casual club that was crowded with a bunch of underaged teenagers.
We all parted our ways, Jacob, Ella, Connor and I went to get some drinks while Tristan, Victoria, Brad and Ingrid immediately rushed to the dance floor the moment they entered. Nicole sat alone on our table, waiting with a bored expression on her face.
