Chapter Thirty

-Kylie's POV-

"I should've slept last night instead of staying up." I yawned as I stretched my tired limbs.

"Same." Victoria and Ella groaned, rubbing their tired looking eyes and putting on some makeup to make them look less like a zombie.

"Good morning, ladies!" Joanne greeted us cheerfully, already changed into the uniform and preparing the things for today.

"Morning." the three of us mumbled, our brains still asleep.

"Good morning." another voice mumbled. Jacob was sitting on the small couch in the staff room, holding his head in his hands.

"Hung over?" I asked and he nodded, Ella immediately went to grab a cup of water and some painkillers for his headache.

I went into the small bathroom and changed into my uniform. I then splashed some cold water onto my face, making me more awake, before drying my face and adding some concealer, mascara and lip balm to my zombie-like face.

"I'll start cleaning the tables first." I told the others in the staff room, grabbed a towel from the kitchen and went out to the cafe area, wiping the tables to make sure they're clean before opening time.

My phone vibrated in my back pocket, signalling a new text. I took my phone out, it's a text from James.

From: Jems

Hey Kylie, I was wondering could you give me Nicole's number? :)

I smirked while typing a reply.

To: Jems

Sure thing, it's xxxxxxxxxxx ;)

From: Jems

Thanks, love you loads (in a brotherly way, don't worry) xx

"You texting Connor again, dear?" Joanne suddenly asked behind me. She was sitting at the counter, counting money

"No, it's James. He's asking for Nicole's number." I smirked and Joanne had the same expression on her face.

"YOU SERIOUS? OH MY GOD I KNEW IT!" Victoria suddenly shouted, running out from the staff room fully dressed in her uniform as well, looking as excited as we are.

"Yup!" we cheered and Ella came out, cheering as well.

-Nicole's POV-

I woke up a few hours after Ingrid left to go home and Kylie left for work.

My phone vibrated, and I checked the time. It's now around 11 in the morning.

I've got a new text from an unknown number.

From: Unknown Number

Hey Nicole, it's James! I was wondering maybe you would like to meet up sometime so I could show you around since I know Kylie's probably busy at work and won't have much time to bring you to do sightseeing :)

I quickly saved his number and replied.

To: Sir McVey

How did you get my number? :o

From: Sir McVey

I asked Kylie, is there a problem?

To: Sir McVey

No, not at all :)

From: Sir McVey

So about the sightseeing...

I thought about it for a while, not knowing how to reply. It's true that Kylie will be busy at work and won't have that much time to show me around. I couldn't ask the other girls because they've all got work. Another choice is to follow Kylie's family but I don't want to interrupt their family time seeing that they've already invited me to join their trip.

Going sightseeing with James sounds like a good idea to me, I get to know him better and I'll admit, he's kind of cute...

I'm free anytime, just call me and I'll be there :)

To: Sir McVey

How about tomorrow? I'm still jet lagged :(
