-Kylie's POV-

We left the apartment hand in hand as we walked to wherever our destination is.

The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, but it wasn't awkward in any way; instead, it was calm and comfortable.

At first, I didn't recognise the way we were walking. But as we walked further,  I remembered the park we were heading — the park we went to on our very first date.

I turned to look at Connor, only to see him already gazing at me with a knowing look, like he knew I would remember.

Of course I would remember our first date.

10 minutes later, we've arrived the park. It was so much like that time, where there was fairy lights and candles all over the place, and a picnic under a tree near the lake, just like last time.

Connor led me towards the picnic and we both sat down. He opened a basket that was sitting there, and took different kinds of food out — sandwiches, cupcakes, his signature chocolate chip pancakes and hot chocolate.

"Isn't pancake for breakfast?" I asked as he handed me a plate.

"No one ever said that we can't have pancakes for dinner. In fact, it should become our thing." Connor smiled.

I giggled, "I remember that time when you asked me out, you bought us hot chocolate and you burnt you tongue!"

He blushed but added, "and the same happened to you too, cutie."

"Touché." we laughed and started eating while having small talks, about our times together, our memories.

If I'm not wrong, I think Connor is trying to recreate our first date. So, I already know what's gonna happen next.

And I was right.

After we finished eating, I laid on the grass and Connor sat next to me with a guitar on his lap. I sat up and looked at him, who looked nervous.

"So, um, remember that time when I hummed a song that the boys and I were writing, and I told you you'd be the first to hear it when we finished?" I nodded, "We actually finished the song before the incident happened, but I never got the chance to show you. So, here it is... It's called 'Shout About It'."

He strummed a few chords, cleared his throat, and started playing.

If you want words to put your mind at rest tonight,

Come shout about it.

We can talk for a hundred miles and drive

Where you're less surrounded.

Cause I can see that the candle you hold inside

Has a cloud around it.

How can a heart like yours be that high and dry

When it burns the brightest.

I'm so sorry I can't stop myself from staring at you,

When you're tired and blue, my dear.

It's just any reason I get to be closer to you,

I wanna shout about it,

Oh, I wanna shout about it.

Beneath the window and the water that's in your eyes

That's where I know you're hiding.

There's a smile that could light up a thousand lives

And you need reminding.

Tell me your fears, don't let 'em live a life alone

Let me share the burden.

Cause here beside you there's a man you better know know know

Who you can confide in.

I'm so sorry I can't stop myself from staring at you,

When you're tired and blue, my dear.

It's just any reason I get to be closer to you,

I wanna shout about it,

Oh, I wanna shout about it.

I'm not saying, all I do

Will make everything you touch turn to gold

I'm just waiting to pull you through

I'll take a little off the load

Yeah, any reason I get to be close to you.

Wanna shout about it.

I'm so sorry I can't stop myself from staring at you

When you're tired and blue, my dear.

It's just any reason I get to be closer to you,

No, I'm gonna shout about it,

Oh, I wanna shout the loudest.

By the time the song ended, tears were streaming down my face uncontrollable; Connor's eyes were filled with tears too.

"That was... Beautiful." I whispered, "Thank you."

He wiped my tears as he stared at me lovingly, "No, thank you, beautiful. You make my life complete. You make me complete. You're everything I'm looking for and more. Everyday, I love you more than I did the day before. Everyday, you make me fall more in love. I'm hung up, I'm shook up, I'm lovestruck. I know we're both still young, still trying to find our way in the world, but I know that you're the one."

At this point, I was weeping into his shirt like there's no tomorrow. His shirt was soaked with my tears, but he continued to pat my head, comforting me. I know my makeup's probably ruined, even if I had waterproof anything on, I probably look like a mess.

He tilted my face so he could look into my eyes, but I moved my hands so I could hide from him. "I look hideous." I laughed as tears continued to fall from my eyes.

He removed my hands from my face and I hid my face in his shirt again. "You could never look ugly in my eyes. You're always perfect, like an angel."

He once again tried to tilted my chin, and this time, I didn't stop him.

He inched his face towards mine, our lips barely touching. His fingers traced the outline of my face, and I observed his every move, his every feature.

He was so gentle, like one wrong move and I'd disappear or break.

"Take me back, please?"
