-Kylie's POV-
After a busy first day of work, Victoria's mother Joanne decided to close up the cafe earlier so we could get ready for the welcoming party.
Ella texted me the details like Jacob's address, what to wear and the time. The welcoming party doesn't start until 8 o'clock and it's just 6 right now.
When I got home, I took a shower and dried myself quickly. We're gonna have a chill party, and probably a sleepover too so I didn't have to wear anything formal. I put on my underwear and grabbed a t-shirt that says 'swag' on it, and wore my shorts. I combed my hair and put it in a bun.
After getting ready, Ella texted me saying she'll pick me up and will arrive soon. While waiting for her, I ate an apple and packed a bag with my wallet, phone, hoodie, uniform, tooth brush, makeup and other stuff in it. I put on my Vans and decided to wait Ella in the lobby.
I walked down to the lobby and wait for Ella to come. A few minutes later, she arrived and I got in her car.
"You look sexy!" she said as she looked at my outfit.
"You too!" I complimented back. She was wearing a tank top and shorts too. We drove to Jacob's house while jamming to Lawson's music. We both love Lawson!
By the time we arrived, we were a few minutes late. Ella parked her car and we walked to the front door, she rang the bell and Jacob opened the door.
"Finally!" he laughed, pulling both of us into the house. Their house is huge! The whole atmosphere was similar to the cafe, which is comfy and relaxing.
"Don't just stand there, come in!" Victoria greeted, leading us to the living room where there are pillows and blankets on both the floor and the sofas.
Joanne came in, holding some drinks and food while we sat down. "Thank you so much for hiring me!" I thanked Joanne as she settled down.
"Well, thank you for joining our Corner Cafe Family!" she said excitedly.
"We have these 'family gatherings' every once in a while so we could relax and chill together!" Victoria told me as the others were chatting, "Also to get to know each other better."
"So, Kylie, tell us about yourself." Jacob said as he shoved popcorn into his mouth.
"I'm Kylie Hansen, from Melbourne, Australia. I just graduated from high school and it has always been my dream to live in London! My parents finally agreed and helped me pay for the fee but only for the first 6 months. Afterwards I'll have to pay for myself so that's why I'm here!" I introduced, not really knowing what else to say.
"Do you have any siblings, dear?" Joanne asked.
"Yeah, I've got a younger sister Celia." I answered as I showed a picture of her from my phone.
"Aw she's adorable!" Joanne smiled.
"Well, my turn to introduce myself!" Ella sung.
"I'm Ella Mace, born and raised in London and finished university last year. I live with my family a few blocks away from the cafe, I have two older brothers who always annoy the hell out of me and I LOVE LAWSON!" she shouted the last part out. I laughed at her and we high fived.
"Okay, I'm Jacob Bleu, the son of Joanne Bleu and Jacques Bleu, the brother of Victoria Bleu. Born and raised in London too, I finished university last year too with Ella, and I'm pretty awesome!" Jacob spoke.
"I'm even more awesome!" Victoria rushed to speak. "I'm Victoria Bleu, the daughter of Joanne Bleu and Jacques Bleu, the sister of Jacob Bleu." Victoria stuck her tongue at Jacob, earning a snort from him. "I'm 3 years older than Jacob and I love baking!"
"I'm probably the most awesome person in here, then!" Joanne chirped cheerfully. "I'm Joanne Bleu, I'm the mother of the annoying Victoria and Jacob Bleu. I'm also the boss of The Corner Cafe, if you don't count my husband in, who's always busy figuring new recipes out at home." she laughed as a man walked in from the kitchen.
"I see you guys have started without me!" he fake cried.
"I'm Jacques, and I'm the head chef of The Corner Cafe. You must be Kylie, nice to meet you!" he said as he sat next to Joanne and shock my hand.
"That would be me, sir." I nodded politely.
The rest of the night we all had fun, watching movies, telling jokes and stories of each other and just doing what families would do.
This feels like a real family, a new family that I know I'm gonna spend a lot of time with.
