38. Explanation

LJ's POV

Nagising ako at napansin na malapit ng mag gabi. Medyo masakit pa rin ang ulo ko at may konti pa na sinat, pero kaya naman. Bumangon ako sa kama ko at agad pumunta sa banyo para mag hilamos.

Pag tapat ko sa may lababo, napansin ko na parang hindi pareho yung damit na suot ko kanina at ngayon. Nakakapagtaka lang dahil hindi naman ako bumangon para mag palit ng damit kanina.

Oh well, baka naman tumayo nga ako kanina. Masyado lang siguro akong bangag para hindi mapansin yun.

Pinunasan ko ng tuwalya ang mukha ko at lumabas ng kwarto. Medyo madilim ang dorm at tahimik. Walang sign nung apat na kasama ko, at malamang, lumabas muna sila.

Malapit na mag 6:00 ng gabi at lumalamig na ulit ng bonggang-bongga. Kumuha ako ng hoodie sa kwarto ko at lumabas ulit sa sala para manood ng tv. Since hindi pa naman ako ganun kaayos, humiga ako sa sofa at tinitigan yung tv, pero nanonood naman ako. Medyo madrama yung pinapanood ko at halos hindi na ako kumurap dahil naging interested ako sa plot nung story.

I felt my phone's vibration at agad kinuha iyon sa tabi ko. I got a message from one of the guys.

From: Jared (5:55 pm)

"I'm out for a moment if you're curious where I am. I'll be back later, the guys are playing soccer and would probably be home by 9. Rest well..."

To: Jared (5:56 pm)

"Okay. You guys be safe."

I guess I'll be left alone then.

I found the next show boring kaya tumayo na lang ako at pumunta sa kusina. I saw a note on the fridge and read it.

'I made dinner for you in case you get hungry. It's in the fridge, just heat it up. Take care'  - Jared

I smiled a little. At least Jared cares for me naman kahit hindi nya madalas ipahalata. I opened the fridge and saw two plates inside. It was covered by a cling wrap.

I pulled it out and noticed that he cooked carbonara for dinner. Binabad ko sa mainit na tubig yung pasta at ininit yung sauce.

After a while, I tasted his cook and found myself smiling. Pwede na sya mag asawa. Hahaha! I never knew he has good cooking skills. Hindi lang kasi sya nagluluto madalas. Usually, si Alex or ako ang nakatoka sa pagluluto.

I enjoyed the meal and finished it within minutes. Hinugasan ko na rin yung mga plates at dumiretso ulit sa living room pagkatapos. I'm getting bored na at gusto ko matulog, pero dahil masyado akong matagal natulog kanina, wala akong maramdaman na antok sa sistema ko.

I layed on the sofa and stared at the ceiling. I tried to recall some good memories of mine back then. Kapag kasama ko si Jeremy or yung mga cousins ko noon sa America. Nakakamiss yun lahat! I was wondering kung kelan ulit mabubuo ang group namin?

Kasama si pick-a-boo...

I got startled when the door bell rang. Tumayo ako at dumiretso sa pinto, binuksan ko ito at nakita si Jared. But what got me is that, he stiffened when he saw me. May problema ba? Wala naman sigurong dapat ikagulat sa mukha ko diba?

"L-Louise..." He stuttered. I gave way for him at agad na syang pumasok sa dorm namin without looking back at me.

"Uhh... Jared? Why do you look like you've seen a ghost behind me?" He flinched when I suddenly spoke. He just shook his head and looked back at me.

"Nothing... I-I'm just tired." He gave me a smile, but I know that it was a forced one.

"Jared, I think your 'nothing' means somethiny. Did something happened?" I quoted the word and went near him but I got surprised when he stepped back. I stared at him with a confused look.
