They fell silent at the sight. The kid had no reactions to the noises. He was obviously unconscious. Adjacent to Faolan, Sapphire stiffened.

"Oh, man," Kyle muttered a few blocks away.

Gale turned to Herobrine, who was gazing at him with a guarded expression. "What do we do about him?"

"We can't kill him!" Karen exclaimed, somewhere in the crowd. "He's defenseless and hurt! It's not honorable!"

Herobrine glanced at her. "What color is his life aura?"

She hesitated, but replied, "It flickers from green to red."

Herobrine nodded in return. "He has a chance at life."

"What are you going to do about him?" Sapphire asked, arms crossed.

"Don't be insolent," he snapped, but then said, "I've never tried it before, but I can now. His attacker had hit him pretty hard. If he wakes, he may have amnesia." The deity broke off from the crowd and went over to him, nudging him onto his back with one foot. Faolan sickeningly recognized the long gash across his chest from America's sword that was still oozing blood, staining his black vest. He was unconscious.

There was a quiet pause, and Herobrine's bay mare whinnied and shook her mane to break the silence.

"Hush, Crimson," he chided and looked back down at the kid. "I could take his memories completely and send him to a village. One very far away, in a desert, one that has no discrimination against Descendants. He may have a chance at being a hero and making actual friends there. Or, we could kill him," he added, resting his bright gaze on Sapphire. She scowled in annoyance.

"He's not going to be killed."

"Nice that we agree for once." Sapphire looked ready to explode, from what Faolan could see. Herobrine kneeled down beside him and took the kid's hand, a surprisingly gentle gesture. His eyes closed and a faint green glow appeared around his hand.

Amia's hand appeared on Faolan's shoulder while the process happened. She was almost opaque, with only the tiniest bit of transparency. "Do you think he'll be okay?" She asked softly.

He whispered back, "Yeah... hopefully he'll be fine."

The green energy from Herobrine's hand seemed to engulf the kid very slowly. There was a blinding flash, and he was gone. All that was left was an iron sword and a dark stain of blood on the sand to mark his presence. Herobrine stood up and laid one hand on the strong neck of his horse, Crimson.

"There. He will remember none of us." He told them.

"Thank you," Gale said, stepping his way to the front. "But how will we get home? It is surely too dangerous to venture back the way we came."

Herobrine nodded. "You are correct. There is a something I find disturbing. I do not wish for you to meet it, as I am not sure what it is. I can teleport you all back to the village."
Gale nodded, a trace of disdain on his face. "Yes, that would be... helpful."

Herobrine nodded. "Great, Give me a moment to rest."

The Descendants began to mingle. The Ender Dragon sat off to the side, watching them carefully. Sapphire left to bid her goodbye. Amia left to comfort the ones who had lost a friend or sibling.

Out of seemingly nowhere, Serefire approached Faolan, her protective diamond helm shining. "You did a good job fighting," she told him.

He responded, "Thank you. Although..." He managed to steal a glance at the spot in the sand he would always be drawn to. "I still feel guilty."

Serefire tipped her head slightly. "Oh? Mobs don't feel much. I have never felt much guilt. Explain."

He shifted his feet anxiously. "I didn't like killing Bridget, in one sentence."

Serefire nodded, gaze surprisingly calm and understanding. "I know what you mean. Killing is not always easy. You must find a balance. Too little and you will become weak. Too much and you will become a tyrant." She gave a small nod. "Tread carefully, Descendant." And she was gone.

Finally, Herobrine called out, "Descendants, gather together. Stop mingling and form your ranks. I will teleport you back to the village. Farewell." There were a few more mutters in return. Herobrine's hands took up the green glow once again, and it engulfed the crowd. Faolan felt a gloved hand slip into his, and in moments, the glow faded into a field, with the outlines of trees in the distance.

"Welcome home," Sapphire whispered.
