Amy's Point of View:
"Mark, why is there a swimsuit in here?" I stand at the end of his bed and hold up his swim trunks on my finger. "You never know" He shrugs "What if my mom got a pool? What if your mom bought a pool? What if we go to a water park?" He shrugs and sucks in his bottom lip. "It's a good thing you're pretty" I toss the swim trunks over my shoulder, Hearing them come in contact with the back of his door. "Why are you packing two days before we leave?" He huffs and throws himself on the bed. "So we're prepared" I pat his arm making him sit up again "And so I can approve all of your outfits" I shrug and begin to fold up a pair of pants. "Can we go to the beach later if I finish helping you pack my bag?" He questions, I roll my eyes and walk over to stand between his legs. "No" I place a hand to his cheek "But you can pack the rest of your bag all by yourself while I help a little and then we can go to the beach" I smile and rub my thumb slightly along his stubble. "You're difficult" He sighs and stands walking to the bag while I take his spot smiling to myself.
It took all morning but we did it. We packed Mark's back up for vacation. I made him put it right beside his door so he isn't tempted to take things out or change anything to mess up the planned outfits we prepared. I fall on my back against his bed and look up at the ceiling as the room goes quiet, A loud growl coming from my stomach. "Hungry?" I set up and make eye contact with Mark at his desk. "I believe so" I shrug and hop off the side of his bed "Want to go to lunch?" I ask, Turning to face him as I place my hand on the door nob. "Sure" He shrugs and stands "I'll tell you when I'm ready and we'll go" A smile appears on his face and I begin to walk out of his room "Oh!" I turn back around to face him "And the beach" He smiles "We're still going to the beach right?" He questions. I smile and nod my head slightly at him "Yes Mark" I see his smile grow "We're going to the beach".
It's been a while since I finished packing with Mark and he was supposed to be getting ready. Ive been catching up on some youtube videos of our friends and stuff when I become curious as to why It's taking him so long to get ready. I look over the top of my laptop and watch my door, Thinking that if I stare long enough it will open and Mark will appear. As I stare at the door for a few seconds a tiny black dot catches my eyes. A moving little black dot that I soon realize isn't just a black dot. A blood curdling scream escapes my mouth as I hop to stand on top of my bed. My door opens and Ethan appears looking worried for not only my safety but the rest of the houses. "What?" He yells holding his arms out to his sides and looking around the room. I point to my doorway "Spider!" I yell, Shaking my arm and watching it as it stays in its place. I see Ethan slowly turn his head to look at me before holding himself up by placing his arm on the doorway and taking off his shoe. "I heard Amy scream" Mark walks into the room "Why did Amy scream?" He questions, Standing beside Ethan and beginning to take in the scene in front of him "Spider?" Mark questions. Ethan nods and hits the spider on the doorway, Making it fall to the ground "Have fun buddy" Ethan pats Marks chest as he walks out my door. Mark turns to me with a smile telling me he's trying not to laugh. I fall to my bed and sit criss cross, Smiling at him as if nothing happened.
"It was a big spider!" I argue, Half laughing while looking over the menu "The white doorframe made it stand out more" I look over my menu at Mark sitting across from me. "I saw when I came in" He smirks " I thought someone poked the wall with a fine tip sharpie" He laughs and I give him evil eye. "You laugh now but who's going to kill your spider once you have one in your room" I look back to my menu, Raising my eyebrows and trying not to make eye contact. "I will, Amy" I look up to see him nod "I will" He nods again before looking back to his menu making us both laugh. Contrary to what you might believe, We decided to try a new cafe today. We found this little red brick building as we were driving around the beach and decided to try it out. The walls on the inside are painted grey and there are classic rock records hanging on the walls as far as the eye can see in addition to the black and white square tiles they used as flooring. In addition to the records, Van Halen is playing loudly through the speakers throughout the cafe, Helping out the very 90's vibe of the place. The cafe in itself smells like basil and fresh home made pizza. In the corner of my eye I see a woman with short black hair approach us, Pulling a small book from her back pocket "What can i get you guys to drink today" Her red lips growing into a small friendly smile. I look to Mark and smile at him, I think we found another spot.
Our new adventure cafe was amazing. The pizza was freshly made and delicious and the whole environment of the place was just fun and exciting in general. As we stand to leave I see Mark walk over to the little bar area that isn't used as a bar but instead used as a place the waiters and waitress' can retrieve change and swipe credit cards. "For Emily" He places a ten dollar bill against the black subway tile spread along the old bar. A smile appears on the waiters face and gives a simple 'Thank you' earning a nod from Mark. Mark begins to walk out the door and I follow a few feet behind him, Giving a smile to the waiter who retrieved Emily's money with a name tag saying Tony. "What was that for?" I ask walking out the door of the cafe. Mark holds the door for the elderly couple walking in before walking with me "When she pulled out her black book to take our orders with I saw a family picture in there of her posing with three little kids that looked like a spitting image of her. I'm assuming their her children" He takes my hand in his as we walk down the sidewalk to the pier "I didn't see a father figure and I remember how difficult it was for my mom to raise Thomas and I halftime so I can't imagine raising three full-time alone while holding onto a job" I look up to him and smile, Knowing what he's getting at "Every little bit helps" He shrugs and continues to walk. Sure it was only ten dollars but he's right, Every little bit helps. That ten dollars could be her kids breakfast or dinner. I don't know how I became so lucky to find Mark but I couldn't be happier I did.
"Mark!" scream as the ice water comes in contact with my skin. I look to him standing in less than two inches of water, Bent over laughing. I walk back to him and kick my foot up splashing him just like he did to me "Not funny now is it" I laugh as he freezes and stares me down. He begins to kick his feet up, Splashing me more than the first time. I stand there but only for a second before I do the same to him and soon enough we're both soaking wet, Cold messes. "Ok, Ok" He holds his hand out and wipes his face with his other hand "Mercy" He laughs and I stop kicking the water. I stand still and watch him, Convinced only for a second that he's about to splash me again before he begins to walk towards me with his hand held out "Truths?" He questions, Still holding his hand out for me to shake it. I step closer to him and peck his lips "Truths." I smile and pull away.
I was so productive today, I'm so proud of myself. I had an orthodontist appointment at 8am and couldn't fall back asleep once I got home so maybe I should have 8am orthodontist appointments everyday. Also, Why do you still have to go to the orthodontist if you don't have braces anymore? That doesn't make since. Anyways, That's besides the point. I'm so excited to start writing the vacation chapters! I have so many great ideas for it but I love hearing input from you loves so if you have any suggestions on what activities should take place please feel free to share. I hope you enjoyed this read. xxParks
