Amy's Point of View:
"Mark!" I shake his side "Mark wake up!" I bite my lip, Trying to hide my smile. I see him begin to wake up. He brings his hands up to his eyes and begins to rub them "Yes, Amy?" He opens his eyes big and I smile huge. I stand up from where I am sitting and hop over him, Landing on the floor with a thud "You're going to wake your mom up" He sits up against my headboard "What are you doing?" He whisper yells at me. I turn from my spot to look back at him "My room is the furthest away from her and my brothers rooms. Do you know how many times I've snuck out through this bad boy" I half laugh and continue to walk the short ways to my window and the baby pink curtains that protected it. "Good point" I hear him laugh as I pull back my curtain. The view outside reveals my childhood playground and the tiny tree house that stood in the tree above it within a field of heavy white snow. The snow looked like a pouring rain storm coming down in all its glory. I hear my mattress squeak as Mark gets out of it, I hold myself up against the window seal and watch the white flakes shower down to my backyard. "I don't remember it ever snowing this hard when I was growing up" Mark stands beside me and watches it pour to the earth. "I know" I half laugh, Seeing my breath fog up a circle of the window as I do so "The kids who live here now are lucky" I look up at him and smile, Quickly seeing him realize and smile softly back at me. My smile begins to fall when I recognize his face growing closer to mine, His hot breath hitting my cold skin. My body stands in shock as I feel his arms wrap around my small frame and hold me there. "I love you, Amy" He whispers, I feel his hot breath against my lips. My lips open partly, Begging for his to touch mine "I love you" I whisper back to him before hearing him stifle a laugh and his lips connecting themselves to mine.
Like Mark said last night, I never remember it snowing this much when we were growing up here. Now that it's morning it still hasn't begin to slow down and because of that the snow has reached a few feet tall, Making it nearly impossible to leave the house. "I can't believe that" I stand at my window continue to watch the snow fall down. "You've said that so many times now, Amy" Mark laughs and I turn on my heel to go back to my spot on my bed. "I've missed it here" I huff and fall to sit on my bed "L.A. is nice but this is where I'm from" I turn to face him. "You're not going to move back are you" Mark has just slipped a shirt over his torso, His hair messy from the fabric. I feel my eyes get big "No, I love it in L.A." I see Mark take a big breath "I can always fist and plus, Just between you and I, Having a four hour plane ride between my mom and I has done us some good" I laugh and so does he. "Well good" Mark nods his head "Arnt you going to get ready?" He questions as I stand, Ready to follow him out the door. "Um no" I say in a duh one and begin to walk towards the door, Not taking a second until my hands on the handle "I don't really know why you did either" I press a hand to his chest and walk out of my childhood room. I can hear his slight huff and I imagine him shaking his head at me as I walk down the hall in front of him.
"No breakfast for you two this morning?" Mom asks as I plop down in the chair beside the window "You have to be starving" She sets her book down against the dark wooden coffee table in front of her. "I'm not hungry yet" I shrug and look to Mark "You're welcome to eat anything in the kitchen if you're hungry" I give him a soft smile and he turns on his heels to walk into the kitchen "Besides my frosting" I look to my mom who has covered her mouth trying not to laugh "That buttercream frosting is mine" I point a finger at him and he holds his hands up in defeat before turning on his heels again to walk into the kitchen.
"Mom!" I yell from the kitchen, Leaning back on my heels as I hold the refrigerator door in my hands. "Yes sweets?" I can hear Mark laugh from the living room "What do you need, Amy?" She questions again, Probably trying to distract me from Marks laughing. I look at the empty refrigerator for a few more seconds "Theres nothing to eat" I wine again before closing it and walking back into the living space. "Sure theres stuff to eat. I stocked up before picking you two up from your flight yesterday" She laughs and looks to Mark, Expecting him to laugh with her. "No, Theres really not" I half laugh, Trying to joke about it because if I don't she'll yell at me. "Theres kale, Spinach, Fruit, Lots of other greens" She looks between Mark and I like I'm crazy "See, Lots" She crosses her legs back and picks her book back up off the coffee table starting to read again. I roll my eyes and turn on my heels, Mentally hitting myself for not storing away chips in my suit case.
The snow calmed a few hours ago but the grounds are still covered. My brother was supposed to join us again for dinner tonight but this time all the roads are blocked off so there's no way he could get here. I watch my mom in the kitchen, Uncovering pots and pans and setting plates out on the table for us to serve ourselves in a few minutes. Mark and I offered to help her but she refused and said that we're her guests and she needs to serve us, Not the other way around. I click my nails against the table and wait patently as she gets the food ready, Silently hoping the snow melts some tomorrow and Mark and I can escape for a while.
"This is so stupid" Marks teeth chatter together as he talks "Seriously, My fingers are barely holding on to these wooden things" I laugh and look down at him below me, He holds his hand up as he silently tells me to continue to climb. In classic mom mode, My mother had us to get ready for bed right after dinner and then say goodnight to her and then she sent us off to bed for the night. There are multiple things wrong with that but one of the biggest was that its 9.25 pm. "See" I set myself against the weak wooden panels on the floor "Not so bad once you're up here right?" I hold Marks arm and pull him slightly but just end up falling back on my ass. "I guess" Mark closes the door back that leads up "Give me the blanket" He holds his hand out and flexes his fingers at me. I zip open my backpack and throw the blanket over to him before getting mine out and wrapping it around my body, Begging for the warmth it brings. Since it was so early in the night I made Mark sneak out my window, In true high school Amy fashion, and climb up to my old treehouse with me. It's freezing but we have the fluffiest blankets in the house and Mark is going to make me go in within minutes but at least I got him out here. "Lay down with me?" I question, Dragging my old bean bag chair out from one of the corners of the house. Mark scoots on his knees over to me and lays his head on the bean bag, It's just high enough so we can watch out the window at the slow snow fall. I lay my head on his arm and cuddle up to him, watching out the window. His lips press to my forehead and I nuzzle back into him, Enjoying just us.
Guess who's pre writing again. I really really would love to stay on my schedule so I am going to try to pre write all of next weeks updates, Including the ones I would be missing if I decided not to post on my trip. I am going to go ahead and pre write those too just in case I do decide to post, I'll have something there. Pre write pre write pre writ! That gets annoying after awhile sorry! I loved how simple and sweet this chapter was and I love how close Mark and Amy's mom are becoming:^) Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this read. xxParks
