Insecurities, and then the bad boy

Chapter 32 - 1 year?

I wake up in Jason's arm. I'm so warm and cozy that I don't want to leave, I couldn't even if I tried since he's much bigger that me so I'm glad I'm comfy. I lay in his arms for 20 minutes and then he starts to wake up. He stretches and lets me go.

Winter: "Good morning my love." He smiles at the 'my love' part and I get up. I had a nightmare last night so I have to be extra happy today so no one worries about me. I can't have them worrying about me, they have their own lives. And by they I mean my family. That feels so nice to say. I have a family. "Do you have pancake batter?"

Jason: "Yeah, why?" Jason says and yawns.

Winter: "I'm going to make pancakes for everyone." Jason looked at me with concern. "What?"

Jason: "Look Winter, I need to tell you two things and your not going to like either. I'm sorry but I have to tell you." I gulp and he stares into my eyes. "I know you had a nightmare last night and I have a few guesses what they were about. Last night I called a really good therapist and she will be meeting with you every Tuesday and Thursday once you start college." He looks down after saying that. I want to yell at him but I can't. He's doing this to help me and I should appreciate him.

Winter: "Thank you." He looks up in shock.

Jason: "Wait what? Uh.. okay well great. Now let's go make those pancakes!"

Winter: "What about the second thing?"

Jason: "I'll tell you later deal?" He holds out his hand.

Winter: "Deal." I say shaking his hand. I'm a little eager to know what the second one is. He said I wouldn't be happy but I still want to know. After I make pancakes for everyone Sophia and John go to work and Lilly goes to her room to draw. Me and Jason go biking. Since I don't have a bike I use Sophia's.

We bike around for an hour and then stop at a park. It's so beautiful outside today. As I'm enjoying the scenery of the park I get an idea. I walk up to Jason and tag him. "Tag! Your it!" I run as fast as I can to the playground and up the stairs. Jason gets me as soon as I reach the top of the stairs and we continue playing for 15 minutes. We bike back home and have lunch. Jason  and me made tuna melts, well I told Jason what to do and he made them. He doesn't know how to cook or anything so I had to explain a lot.

Winter: "Hey Jason can we go to the tree house and then you can tell me what you wanted to earlier?" He sighs and puts his plate in the dishwasher.

Jason: "Yeah, let's go."

Winter: "We don't have to go."

Jason: "Its not the place, it's what I have to say."

Winter: "Oh, well we'll be fine. Let's go." We walk in silence to the tree house. Once we get their we climb up and sit down. I sit on Jason's lap and lean my head on his chest while he plays with my hair. After a few minutes of sitting he sighs.

Jason: "Okay so I've been planing this for a few years and I kinda have to since I already signed up... and well I'll be gone while." I sit up and look at him in the eyes.

Winter: "What? We're are you going? For how long?" He sighs again and looks down.

Jason: "I'm going into the military, combat for a year." He says quickly.

Winter: "Combat?! For a year?" He nods still not looking at me.

Jason: "I'm so sorry. I've been planing this before I fell for you."

I think about this for a minute. He's going to be away from me for a year. My first year of college, the year I get a therapist, the first year I'll actually celebrate holidays and birthdays, the first year that I'll finally be happy. He's not going to be here for these things. I'm separated from my thoughts when I feel Jason hug me. I hug him back.

Jason: "We'll Skype every week okay?"

Winter: "When do you leave?"

Jason: "A week before you go to college. But don't worry, the year will go by super fast and we'll see each other again."

Winter: "Your doing combat Jason, what i-if you get hurt? O-or worse?" I'm sniffle. He doesn't say anything for a while and we just stay in each other's arms.

Jason: "I'll love you forever." He whispers in my ear.

Winter: "I'll love you forever to Jason Diaz. You have my word." I whisper back and pull away. "Let's go back." He nods and we leave.

Jason's going into combat... woah. Didn't see that coming did you? Well maybe but probably not I hope.
I'm sorry that this chapter was a little boring but don't worry there's still about 4 chapters left!
