Chapter 11- Outta there

Winter's P.O.V-

I look at him oddly as he smirks. He's gonna feed me? Yeah right.

He takes the spoon fills it with the soup and looks at me.

Jason: "Open up."

Winter: "No way Jas-" I should have just shook my head because he shoved the spoon in my mouth and then he started laughing.

I was about to spit it out but he covered my mouth so I had to swallow it.

Jason: "Do you want to play this the easy or hard way?" He smirks.

I open my mouth and he looks at me shocked.

Jason: "Oh- uh. Yay! Your really going to eat?!" I nod and open my mouth again so he can feed me and he makes me finish the soup.

After that he tries to give me me the chicken nuggets but I give him the evil eye so he stops trying to make me.

Jason: "Thanks for eating the soup, you really need it Winter." Then a door opens.

Maria: "Hey guys." She waved her hand at us and smiles. I wave back but I don't smile.

Jason: "When did you leave?"

Maria: "When you started to feed her like a couple." She says calmly and Jason blushes. Why is he blushing?

Jason: "So what did the doctor say?"

Maria: "Winter can leave tomorrow morning, but first the police need to ask you a few questions Winter." I freeze and I hear them trying to talk to me but I can't move. My mom is probably going to get me into jail instead of her. My life is just gonna get worse and worse. I feel someone shake me and I snap back to reality. I look up at Jason and Maria with a scared face.

Winter: "Is she going to make me go to jail instead of her?" I mumble looking at them with hopeful but sad eyes. They both shake their heads fast.

Maria: "No Winter, no of course not.
Your mom did the damage so she has to face the consequences." I nod and wipe the tear off my face that came rolling down. Jason gives me a warm hug.

Wow, he's a good hugger, I wonder if he's a good kisser? WHAT? I uh- didn't say that... out load but I can't say anything about in my head.

Let's pretend I never said that.

We pull apart after a minute and Maria squeals. We look at her and this time we're both blushing.

Jason: "Well I need to go back to my house."

Maria: "Me to, ya'know parents." She laughs a little and then stops when she sees me sad.

Maria: "Oh, um. Sorry."

Winter: "It's ok. I have a question for you Jason."

Jason: "Fire away." I take a breath.

Winter: "Are going to keep bullying me at school because I need to know not to come up to you if so." He grinds his teeth a little and then looks at me with a smile.

Jason: "How many times do we need to tell you, your our friend." I gasp a little.

Winter: "Oh. I haven't had a friend in a while." Then both their faces frown and look at the floor.

Winter: "Thank you." Then they look up and smile.

Jason: "You should smile Winter."

Winter: "Uh..." Maria slaps Jason's arm and gives him her stern mom look.

He sighs and they both say there goodbyes. Right before they leave Jason says something that makes my heart skip and I have no idea why.

Jason: "We'll come back in the morning Snowflake." Then he walks away.

Omg, wait omg I just said omg. Well in my head but I never say that. Oh well, did he just give me a pet name, and said he's my friend?

Oh no. Oh no. Oh no.

This can't be happening. I think my old feelings for him are coming back!

I woke up to the smell of oatmeal, and sure enough there was oatmeal by my bed. Great the hospital is going to make me eat more.

Just then I see Maria come in with sunglasses and a bag. She takes off her sunglasses and flashed her smile at me.
Wow, she's so much more prettier than me.

Maria: "Hey, Jason will be here in an hour. Btw the police are here so there going to come in, in about a minute. You doing ok?" I nod my head.

She puts her bag down and comes over to me. She points at my oatmeal than at my mouth. I sigh and eat a few bites than the police come in so I put it down.

Officer Mann: "Hello Winter, I'm officer Mann and this is Officer Kelly." A young women probably in her mid twenties nods at me. Then he continues, "Is it ok if we ask a couple questions?" I nod and he continues, "How long has your mother abused you?" I take a breath.

Winter: "She's ignored me for about 6-7 years and has abused me for about one and a half years." Officer Kelly writes everything I say down on her notebook and it kinda scares me.

Officer Mann: "What kind of abuse besides the belt marks has she done?"

Winter: "Sh-She has been slapping me for the one and a half years and only use-used the belt a few days ago."
They notice me stuttering and only ask one more question.

Officer Mann: "One of your friends parents said they could take care of you until graduation or you could stay in your house and we would assign someone to look after you until graduation. Which would you want?" I look over at Maria and she shrugs. Well than it's not her, could it be Jason?

Officer Kelly: "Winter honey, we need your answer now."

Winter: "I'll go to my friends house if that's ok." They nod and leave.

Maria: "Do you think it's Jason?"

Winter: "I have no idea."

Maria: "Let's go sign your doctors leave so we can get out of here." I nod and follow her. My bruises are still sore but I can walk. I sign the doctors leave and the parents lines are already signed but the doctor takes it back before I can see who signed it. Me and Maria start walking out and I stop.

Winter: "What about Jason? Wasn't he coming?" Then I hear a car coming towards us. It was a slick black Maserati (the one at the top). The window rolls down and I see Jason.

Jason: "Get in girls!" He shouts and snickers at our stunned faces.

Maria: "I call shotgun!!"
