{Georgina's POV}
~meanwhile~
I sat down on a sofa, opposite what I presumed was Chiron's desk. The boy plonked himself down next to me, his hands fiddling nervously.
"This is a SEArious matter. Georgina, you have been claimed by Poseidon, the god of the sea. This makes you Percy's brother."
"I'm sorry if I caused any trouble. Maybe I should just leave?"
"No. This is important... it's unlike other... claimings. You see, Poseidon swore not to have anymore children, because he is such a major god. Things could get problematic."
"Maybe this is just a mistake in the claiming process. I couldn't possibly be related to someone important."
"This is worse than you will be able to understand, Georgina. You will attract more monsters than other demigods, and most of the gods won't be too happy about your existence."
"Well, what kinda gods we talking about here? Like, super powerful immortals, or the kind that you can turn your back on and hope for the best?" I said, trying to lighten the mood.
"We're talking super powerful immortals, Georgina. Most of the time I turn my back on them and hope for the best, though," said the boy who had been dubbed Percy.
"Percy will be in charge of making sure that your powers are well used and advanced. This should prevent accidental... spillages."
"Yeah, it's a bit late for that, I'm afraid. I've already flooded the showers."
"Oh, don't worry about that. I made the toilets explode when I first came. Family tradition, I guess." We both laughed, and I realised that maybe my new brother was going to be quite fun to be around. Chiron smiled at the two of us, though I was sure that it was a mask over his true feelings.
"Percy, go and show Georgina to the Poseidon cabin. Also, make sure that none of the other campers try to hurt her. I have a feeling that they won't be happy about another Poseidon kid, as they are believed to be bad luck," he said, gesturing to the door. By the time we'd stepped outside, the campers had dispersed, and it was rapidly getting darker.
"Hey, I hope you don't mind but I'm gonna Iris message my," He corrected himself, "our, half brother, Tyson, once we get in the cabin."
"It's cool." I said, as I shrugged. As I stepped inside the cabin, I felt a cool sea breeze flow around me, reminding me of the many hours I loved to spend at the beach. Sea shells and rubber fish decorated the walls, and I noticed some weird, metal, hippo-like creatures dangling from the ceiling.
"You can have that bed, there," Percy told me as he gestured to an empty bed.
"There aren't many Poseidon kids, are there?"
"No. You see, Poseidon's kids are too powerful and they're supposed to be "bad luck". Also, Poseidon isn't like the other gods. He doesn't really go around making kids all that much, unlike Apollo and Hermes." Then, Percy did something that surprised me most of all. He started talking to a fountain. Sofie had told me that people in this camp were on drugs. The fountain was at the back of the cabin, encrusted with broken shells and sand.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, worried for my half-brother's sanity. I started to question my own when a face appeared in the water. It was plump and round, almost baby-like. It would almost have been cute, if not for the one eye in the middle of his forehead.
"Hello, brother!! Who is the girl with you? I've missed you so much!" The boy told him as he threw his arms out to hug his brother, before realising that he was hugging fog.
"I've missed you too, Tyson! And this girl is Georgina. She's actually our half-sister."
"Hey." I awkwardly spoke.
"Sister! Let me hug you! Oh, carp. This is an Iris message, isn't it?" shouted Tyson like a toddler high on sugar.
"Yeah it is, Tyson. I really need to get round to teaching you the difference between real life and an Iris message. Anyway, it's late here, and we'll get told off for being up soon, so I think we'll have to go now."
"Okay! Bye bye, brother! Bye bye, sister!" Before I could reply, the image faded, leaving Percy and I staring at a fountain.
"We should probably go to sleep now. You've got a busy day ahead."
{Sorry about the pun near the start. I couldn't resist.}
