{Sofie's POV}

However much I disliked the Romans, the architecture they had used in New Rome stunned me. From the view I had, the paths seemed to form a great jigsaw puzzle, with fountains and small buildings dotted around. Frank squawked, nearly sending Georgina toppling over the edge in surprise. As he started to fly downwards, I noticed Hazel waving up at us. We landed next to her without crashing, which I was surprised at, and once Georgina and I had gotten off his back, Frank returned to his human form.

"Frank!" Hazel hugged him, and that was when I realised they were a couple.

"So much has happened recently. Yesterday, a girl landed on top of Reyna during her speech. It was probably shadowtravel, so she might be my sister!"

"Hazel, that's great! I mean, you're happy about it, right?" Frank and Hazel continued with their cute but slightly awkward conversation, while I took in the landscape. A tall girl with dark, plaited hair approached us, with two metallic dogs by her side.

"I'm Reyna, praetor of New Rome, and daughter of Bellona. And you two are-?" The way she spoke made me feel slightly uneasy, as if she was hiding something beyond her superiority.

"I'm Georgina, and I'm a daughter of..." Georgina looked at me, her mind evidently blank all of a sudden. I mouthed her father's name to her, but she still seemed unsure.

"Po-...sea... dan." I resisted the urge to facepalm, and Reyna seemed to do the same.

"Well, you certainly are Percy's sister."

"I'm Sofie, daughter of Athena." I reached my hand out to shake hers, as it seemed the right thing to do, even though we seemed to be a similar age.

"Minerva here doesn't have-"

"Children, I know. But the Greek version does. Before you stole-"

"The Romans were merely influenced by the Greek."

"No, you stole their-"

"STOP!" As Georgina pulled me away, I realised that I had made yet another enemy. I gave Reyna a passive aggressive smile, which she then returned.

The tour seemed to take ages to complete. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy the appearance of New Rome, it was just that Reyna took every chance possible to annoy me. Once the tour had finished, she ushered me to the side, away from Georgina.

"You do realise, that as praetor here, I have every right to kick you out?" She looked down at me, her dogs growling. I hated height differences, but it didn't intimidate me.

"You do realise, that as a Greek here, I have every right to complain about your robbing ways?" Reyna sighed at my response.

"Tell Georgina that the both of you will be joining the 4th Cohort." Reyna walked off, but not before her dogs barked at me.

It took Georgina and I about an hour to reach our destination, because we had to keep on asking random citizens for directions. I usually got distracted halfway through their instructions, and Georgina forgot what they said. My feet were sore and my back was aching by the time we reached a small cabin with the number 4 on it. Georgina opened the door, revealing a room with two bunk beds.

"Who are you?" A girl was sitting on the top of a bunk bed, staring at us. She had brown hair which was almost ginger, with freckles splashed about on her face.

"I could ask you the same question." I replied.

"Sofie, you've already made one enemy today. You don't need another." Georgina told me. Then, she faced the girl, and said, "I'm Georgina, and this is Sofie."

"I'm Millie. Alivia, come here." I looked around, wondering who Alivia was, but that question was answered when a tall, pale girl with chestnut hair emerged from behind a bed, book in hand.

"Hi, I guess."
