Our missing friend

Chapter 45

Trevor and Ruby were very happy when we told them me and Felix made up and are friends again.

"Don't ever fight again because it effects us too" Trevor says like he's our kid

"I'm very sorry we put you through that" I say to him

I look over and see Cole, the longer Daisy been missing the worse he's been looking. He looks so tired and sad, it actually breaks my heart because it really does seem like he loved Daisy.

"Hey I'll be right back" I tell Trevor and walk over to Cole

"Hey" I say to him and he turns around and gives me a blank expression "how are you?" Stupid question

"Do you need something Hazel?" He asks a little annoyed

"Yeah um I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with me on the bleachers?" I ask knowing he'll probably say no

He looks like he's actually thinking about it "yeah fine I usually eat there any way at lunch" he shrugs and surprising me but that explains why I never see him at lunch most of the time

At lunch I grab me something from the cafeteria and sit down on the bleachers and wait for him, I almost don't think he's going to show but then I see him walking towards me.

He sits down next to me without uttering a word.

"So you dating zero or Felix?" He asks as he opens a bag of chips

"Neither" I tell him

"Have you found out anything?" He asks and I know exactly what he's talking about

"No" I shake my head "we even went and saw Daisy mom but she still doesn't know where she is"

He sighs sadly and hunches his shoulders "I don't know what to do Hazel" he whispers

"I don't either but we don't need to lose hope that she won't come back" I say trying to be strong for him

"It's like ever since she left I've been replaying everything in my head looking for answers on where she might be"

"Was she acting different before she disappeared?" I ask

"She was always happy looking on the bright side" he says with a hint of a smile "but it was like sometime her smile seemed force or she would make up excuses to not see me or her friends and even missed school a couple of time"

"Maybe she was stressed with graduating or something" I shrug

"Yeah but I don't know maybe I am looking to into it but it's just she didn't seem like her self before everything happened I even asked her if she wanted to break up with me but she told me she loved me" I watch him close his eyes tight

"You know before she disappeared she made up excuses to see me, Trevor, Felix and Ruby but that might be a coincidence" I say

"I don't know we're probably looking for something that's not even there" he mumbles

I look at him and I can tell he's lost some weight and he only brought a bag of chips with him. "Here have half" I say and hand him half of my sandwich

"No I'm-" he starts saying

"Eat it Cole" I say and give him a look

He rolls his eyes but takes the sandwich and eats it.
