Flash back to hazel at 5
Me and daisy were up in my room playing with our dolls.
"I like your new doll Daisy" I tell her
"Thank you" she smiles down at it like its her baby, then she looks at me like she's thinking about something "here" she hands me the doll
"Huh?" I say confused
"You can have it" she tells me
"No no I can't take your new doll" I shake my head
"My mom will buy me another one and I know how much you like it" she says
I take the doll from her hands and smile down at it "thank you" I smile at her
"What are best friends for" she gives me a toothless smile
All of a sudden we hear a loud car pull up, me and daisy run to the window to investigate.
It's a moving truck that just pulled up next door.
"New neighbors" I whisper
"Maybe they will have a girl our age" Daisy says getting excited
We watch a regular car pull up in the driveway and we see a man and a lady get out and then a little boy our age.
"Eww it's a boy" I say in disgust
"He's cute" Daisy giggles
"Ewww" I say shaking my head, boys are gross
"Daisy your moms here" I hear my mom yell
"Coming" Daisy yells back "I'll see you later" Daisy hugs me and goes downstairs
About an hour later I go downstairs into the living room.
"O good I was just about to call you down we are going over to the neighbors" my mom says
"I don't want to go" I say stubbornly
"Come on pumpkin we aren't staying that long and they have a little boy your age" my dad says to me
"Eww" I say
"Come on" my dad laughs
We walk over to the neighbors house and rings the door bell, we wait a second and I look up to see a lady opening the door smiling at us.
"Hi we wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood, we live next door" my mom says
"Come in" the lady tells us
"Thank you" my dad says
"What's your name?" The lady asks me as we sit on her couch
"Hazel" I tell her
"How old are you?"
"I'm 5"
"Well I have a little boy that's 5 too you guys will probably be in the same class" she says "Felix come down here" she yells
I look up to see the boy come down the stairs, he won't look at me, he walks over to his mom.
"Yes" he whispers
"This is hazel, hazel this is Felix" the lady says
"Hi" the boy says looking down at his feet
"Hi" I say back
"Why don't you show her your new room" the lady says to him
"Okay" Felix says and starts walking upstairs, I follow him into a room which I guess is his
"This is my room" he tells me
I look around but there's nothing really in here but boxes and a bed.
"It will look really cool when I get my stuff out of the boxes" he says
"O okay" is all I say
I walk over to one of the boxes and open it because I'm nosie.
"What's this?" I ask him
"O those are my trophies" he smiles proudly at his 3 trophies
"You won all these" I say amazed
"Yeah my dad really likes sports so he makes me play. I'm really good"
I smile at him.
"And these are my race cars" he pulls them out of the boxes
"Ooo I like this one" I tell him about the purple car
"Thanks. that can be your car when we play"
"Yay" I giggle
"Show me more stuff" I ask him
"Hmm this box is my clothes and this one is more toys" he points at each box "hold on" he tells me and walk over to one of the boxes and pulls out something "Look at this" he shows me
"What is it?" I ask confused
"There walkie talkies" he tells me
"What do you do with them?"
"One person gets one and another person gets one and you can talk but you can't be to far from the other person otherwise you can't hear them"
"That's so cool" I say amazed
"Here" he hands me one of them
"Huh?"
"You take it to your house and we can talk" he smiles like its the best idea ever
"Really" I jump up and down from excitement
"Yeah we can talk all the time"
"Thanks Felix " I smile
