"Are you ready for tonight?" Y/N asked Ellie, packing a basket full of delicious food.

Ellie froze, looking down sheepishly. "Oh, um, sorry Y/N, but I promised Emer that I'd go out on a date with him tonight... Sorry..."

Y/N stared at her sister in shock. "Ellie, you've known about this for the past month. The second Tuesday of the month is always  our night to go out and enjoy the stars." She said, pausing to walk up to her. "How did you manage to plan over a three year tradition?"

Ellie shrugged and said, "I don't know, Y/N. I was just caught up in the moment and agreed."

Y/N frowned. "Ellie, you know that I support your relationship, but you can't just forget about everyone else in your life because you've met a boy."

Ellie scoffed and crossed her arms. "I know that, Y/N. But this is love." She said, stars in her eyes.

It was Y/N's turn to scoff. "Being in love doesn't mean that you put your lover above yourself. You can be devoted to more than one person."

"Y/N, calm down. It's not like I'm abandoning you forever. I'm just skipping out on one event."

Y/N couldn't help but feel that it was  like that as she watched her sister walk through the door.

-2 Months Later-

"Ellie, just because you think  you've fallen in love doesn't mean you can stop doing your job!" Y/N shouted at her sister angrily. "I've had to patrol by myself for the past four weeks by myself!"

"Oh please, it's not like anything happened  to you, did it?" Ellie snapped back. "You're perfectly fine, and perfectly capable of taking care of a few patrols by yourself."

"Yeah, a few. Not four weeks of them! You know that we can't use our powers that long continuously!" Y/N exclaimed, pointing to her fractured arm. "Now I've gone and fractured my arm and it won't heal for at least three days because I've been using too much magic."

"You'll be fine." Ellie said, waving it off.

"Yeah, I know, but I can't patrol like this, can I?" Y/N sighed. "Look, I'm just asking you to patrol for me while I heal. It'll be a week at most. Please?"

"Fine." Ellie huffed. "I can't believe you're doing this to me."

Y/N cast her sister a look of annoyance. "I didn't choose to get hurt, and I certainly didn't choose to interrupt your important  plans."

"Well, what do you know?" Ellie said as if she was more knowledgeable. "You've  never been in love!

"What I do know is that even if you love someone, you can't treat everyone else who cares about you like trash!" Y/N said.

Ellie groaned. "Just shut up, Y/N. I'm not treating you like trash." She then haughtily left the room.

Y/N glared at the door. She crossed her arms and leaned back against her chair. "Who cares that I've never been in love? I'm still her older sister." She mumbled. Y/N glanced at the painting of the two of them that their mother had paid for as a birthday gift for Ellie. It was the last birthday gift either of them had received from their parents. "Who would've thought that I'd be replaced... And by a boy, of all things?"
