The Eighth Sin

Episode 12 - Bloodcurdling Canon

~Y/N's Perspective~

Ban and King are quick to join us on in the ring, and as I climb out of Meliodas' scabbard to stand on his shoulder, he shouts, "My real identity is captain of the Eight Deadly Sins, I'm Meliodas, the Dragon Sin!" I hear words of confusion exchanged, and even some people asking "Wait, isn't there seven deadly sins?"

"We're taking over Vaizel and everything here belongs to us now! I'm giving you less then one minute to clear out of this town, understand? If you don't, we're gonna kill you all!" Meliodas continues. The people start yelling back, but refuse to move, not believing him. "GET THE HECK OUT!" He yells, and everyone starts to scream, but not run quite yet. 

Suddenly, someone points out giant fireballs flying towards the village. Meliodas jumps up to counter the fireball heading in our direction, probably forgetting that I'm on his shoulder. I grip onto his hair and yell as I flail around. 

Meliodas lands and I climb up to the top of his head, panting. 

"Darn, they're here already?" Meliodas curses, still not noticing my attempts to get him to put me down.

"Yes!" I agree impatiently. "Now, can you please put me down?"

Meliodas ignores me.

"That equipment's sacred treasure class." Kings says, looking at our attackers. 

"It sure is," Meliodas agrees. "Guila's gotten a lot stronger than she was at the Necropolis. And what's worse is there's three this time. Let's split up for now." Meliodas, Ban, Diane, and King all separate, heading to the town to help evacuate citizens, or in Meliodas' case, try to fight the intruders.

Meliodas makes it just outside the town before running into Guila, who greets he greets nonchalantly.

"I've learned a lot since our battle at the Necropolis." Guila tells him. "I am here today for a review session of sorts."

"So you're here for revenge. Isn't that what you really mean?" Meliodas corrects, reaching for his sword. "Okay, no biggie, I'll take you on." 

"I doubt that." Guila cheerfully quips. "You're no longer much of a challenge." She waves her own weapon towards us, and several small balls resembling explosions  surround us. 

"If I get careless and touch one of those things, I'm guessing they'll explode on me. It's a hassle, but I'll get rid of them, one by one." Meliodas says, getting ready to disable the magical explosives. 

Guila smiles. "They'll explode on their own. It doesn't matter how careful you are." She explains as the chain reaction starts, sending us flying. 

I sigh as we hit Ban in mid air, thumping to the ground. I crawl out of the scabbard, a little bruised, but nothing compared to my captain. I look up to see Hawk and Elizabeth standing on one side of us, while Guila and another girl, refered to as Jericho, stand on the other. They seem to be discussing their objective, and point out that their most powerful enemy is still at large.

Just then, King's voice rings through the air. "Hey, Captain! It looks like everyone has been evacuated." He calls, floating above us casually. He notices Ban and Meliodas on the ground just as Guila sends her chain explosion to surround him. "Darn it!" He yells as the explosives envelop his space. The explosions clear to show King unharmed, surrounded by his own Sacred Treasure. "Just kidding." He says, not at all phased. He continues to counter their every attack with ease and defeats them without much of a hassle.

"You sure did a number on them, King!" Hawk yells, trotting up closer to us. I climb onto his back and tell him to drag the two deadweights to safety while King questions our attackers. "Will do!" He replies, grabbing their shirts and running as quickly as he could.
