Y/N walked around the eerily perfect town, asking if anyone knew of a young couple staying in the town, and where they were staying. "Oh, you mean that lovely pair staying up at the Lake Inn?" An old lady asked. "They're righht over there, dearie." She said, pointing at Ellie and Emer, who were sitting at a table in front of a small café. Y/N thanked the old woman and walked off towards her travel mates.
"Hey, so where are we staying?" Y/N asked as she walked up to the two, dragging a chair over so that she could sit down.
Ellie looked at her, and said, "The Lake Inn. Room 107. Here's your key." She tossed her sister the key.
"Thanks." Y/N said, snatching it and tucking it into her pocket. "Don't you guys think something's wrong with this town?" She asked them, taking a sip from Ellie's coffee.
"No. Why would you say something like that?" Emer replied. "I think that this is a lovely town." Ellie nodded, snatching her coffee back from Y/N.
Y/N sighed and put her head in her arms. "Let's just go to bed."
Ellie squirmed. "Well, actually I was hoping that the two of us could do something together? We haven't done anything like that in a while." She explained, grabbing her sister's hand. "Please?"
Y/N looked at Ellie in shock, saying, "Er, I suppose that we could."
Ellie's eyes lit up and she pulled the both of them towards the lake, yelling, "We'll be back soon, Emer!"
The pair ran to the lake and Ellie pulled them into the line to wait for canoes so that they could spend some time away from everyone else. As they were dragging the canoe into the lake, Y/N paused her sister, saying, "Alright, alright. Slow down, please, and explain what you're playing at."
Ellie sighed and whispered, "Emer asked me to marry him."
Y/N gasped. "What? You've only known each other for about four months!"
Ellie nodded. "He told me that even though we've only known each other for such a short time he feels like it's really true love.""Well, I hope you reminded him that you're only sixteen." Y/N retorted, hopping into the canoe.
"I did!" Ellie exclaimed while handing her sister an oar. "I told him that I'd think about it, but I don't want to get married yet. I mean, I'm not even sure that he's the right guy!"
Y/N looked at her skeptically. "Really? Because you didn't seem so unsure earlier this week."
Ellie sighed and threw her hands up in the air. "That's because I thought that this was going to be a fling or something. I'm sure that I could do better than a random guy I met in the woods!"
Y/N grabbed Ellie's hand. "Hey, hey, calm down. You know that you don't believe that. You do love Emer, but you just don't want a permanent commitment, which, considering that you're only sixteen, is perfectly understandable. You just have to explain that to your boyfriend. If he loves you he'll understand."
Ellie smiled. "I knew that you'd help me sort things out, Y/N."
Y/N nodded solemnly. "Of course. I am your older sister, after all."
Ellie winced sheepishly. "Um, yeah, sorry about how much of a jerk I've been lately. I just got caught up with the whole having a boyfriend thing."
Y/N blinked slowly before saying, "No."
"No?" Ellie repeated.
"No, it's kind of not that easy." Y/N clarified.
"Oh."
"But, I will let you work your way up to forgiveness." Y/N said, grabbing her oar and beginning to paddle back to the shore. "Now, hurry up. I'm hungry!"
