"I have a surprise." Max said after we ate.

I raised my eyebrows and said "ohhhh fancy."

"Whatever. Dress warm." He said throwing me one of his sweaters.

I ran up stairs and put on some black sweatpants and his red sweater.

I put my hair in a messy bun, did a little makeup and put on some boots.

"Alright, so where spending the whole day out." Max said.

I smiled and jumped in the air causing him to laugh. "Y'know for a football player, your pretty girly." He said.

"And for a football player, sometimes you act like your 7." I replied.

"Whatever." He laughed.

We walked to his car and got in.

"Um... you look beautiful in my sweater." He said.

I was about to thank him when he said "I men, you look beautiful all the time, not just in my sweater." He said.

Damn. Since when is he awkward with me?

"Oh... thanks." I shad blushing.

"Okay, first we go to the mall." He said.

"Well why'd I dress warm then?" I asked.

"Because it's cold." He relied.

"Oh. Yeah." I replied.

We got to the mall and spent 2 hours walking around stores and laughing and talking.

"You hungry?" Max asked.

"Yeah, sure." I replied.

"Okay, let's go." He said smiling.

20 minutes later we where still driving. In the middle of nowhere.

"Maxxxxx where are we going?" I whined.

"Where here." He said.

I looked out the window and my eyes widened.

"Oh. My. God." I said.

I squealed and ran to the edge of the cliff.

There was a picnic set up, and a beautiful view.

"Max! It's amazing!" I squealed.

"Like you." He mumbled.

"Okay let's eat." Max said, covering up bis mumbles.

We ate the sandwiches he packed and then we sat by the cliff.

"Erm... Riley?" Max started.

"Woah. No missy. Must be serious." I replied.

"Yeah..." he said not laughing at my joke.

"What's wrong Max?" I asked putting my hands lightly on his face.

He looked at me with pain in his eyes and kissed me.

He kissed me.

I didn't react at first but eventually I kissed back.

He pulled away and started to apologize. "I'm sorry Riley. I shouldn't of done that."

"Max." I said quietly.

"Look, let's leave. I'm sorry Riley." He continued, ignoring my voice.

"MAX!" I yelled.

"Huh?" He said, snapping out of his rambling.

"If I didn't want this, would I of kissed back?" I asked.

Max just smiled at me.

I saw the pain in his eyes go away and he pulled me into a hug.

"I never wanted to like my best friend." He whispered into my ear.

"I'm glad you do." I whispered back.

We spent hours just talking about everything. Eventually it got late so I laid back to watch the stars. Max laid by me, so I rested my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer.

"Riley?"

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Do you want to go out with me?" He asked.

"No." I replied.
