(Emily POV)
On our way home, I couldn't stop staring at the ultrasound picture. I just can't believe this lil bean is inside of me. It's so surreal. I think that's going to be their nickname, lil bean. Until we know the gender that is.
"Hey Ali?" I say.
"Yes em?" She replies.
"I thought of a name to call the baby until we know the gender." I say.
"What is it?" She asks.
"Lil bean." I say.
"I love it. Lil bean." She repeats.
"Me too." I say.
We sit and talk about a few options, like bottle feed or breastfeed, names, how to tell our friends...
"So what do you think you're going to do?" She asks.
"I think I'm going to breastfeed because of the nutrients that formula can't provide. I read that breastmilk is the best nutritional choice for infants. It also allows mother and child to form a special bond."
"That's sweet." Ali says.
"I think that's one of the things I'm most looking foreword too." I say.
"Aww, well I'll be there to help in any way I can." Ali said.
"Can we go shopping? Please?" I ask.
"Sure. Let's go to 'The Darling Duck' I've heard they have good stuff." She says.
"Okay." I say.
We get to the store and it's baby heaven.
"This place is amazing." I say.
We immediately head towards the nursery furniture and I found an amazing nursing chair. It's perfect. It's gray in color and reclines. We bought it.
We then started getting more things for the nursery, the crib is white.
We're going to do a gender neutral nursery right now and then add a few things when we find the gender. I'm so excited. I'm sure we'll have the nursery put together within the next few weeks.
(Ali POV)
I'm so excited for this baby. I can't wait to put these things together. When I get home, I think I'm going to get busy with Emilys chair. I knows she's so excited with her find. She was literally about to fall asleep in it in the store. These pregnancy hormones.
I decide to drive back home so emily could nap and so that I could spend some time with our parents for our night out. Which is when I'm actually going to but Emily's ring.
We get home and Emily was asleep in the passenger seat so I went to the other side and put her in my arms bridal style and carry her to our bed and put her into pajamas successfully without waking her. Then I tucked her in and kissed her forehead. By this time it was 8:30 pm.
I then went downstairs and got ready along with our parents and we all went to the mall. I explained my plan to them on the way there. They all agreed and gave me their blessings.
As we walked into the jewelry store, I was looking at rings and couldn't find one until Wayne found one that looked like something Emily would love.
"Hey Ali, I found one that Emmy may like over here." He said.
He pointed to the ring that had one big diamond in the middle and smaller diamonds around the bigger one the ring was white gold and it was perfect. I am so happy that they had the right size too. I may have measured her ring size in her sleep like a week ago...
I bought the ring and hoped to make dinner tomorrow night so that I can surprise her with it. My plan is to put the ring on the fork, and then stick the fork into her favorite cake, chocolate with German chocolate with vanilla ice cream. She'll love it considering how much she loves food.
We all head back to the house where I hide the ring in the cute little house plant by the door.
Then I take a shower and get ready for bed. Everyone is ready for bed and Emilys parents are staying in the guest bedroom and mine are staying in the once second guest bedroom after they go back, which it tomorrow then I will be putting the nursery in there. Tomorrow is going to be one busy day. Then I just lay in bed and fall asleep with emily cuddled next to me while I look at the ultrasound photo again. I stare at it and then I move to kiss Emily and the lil bean goodnight.
"I love you lil bean." I say to Emilys tummy while kissing it.
