Alison's POV
Since it's the first weekend of summer, Emily and I decided to take the kids camping.
"Mommy?" I hear Lily ask as I put one of the suitcases into the trunk of the truck as Emily sets up the camper.
"Yes, Lil?" I ask her.
"Can I bring my bike? And you help me ride it like Asher?" She asks.
"Lily, I wish I could help you with that, but I think Mama would want to do that with you." I say, and kiss her forehead after I shove the last of the things into the bed of the truck.
"Okay." She says, and smiles at me.
"Good, Emily?" I call out for her.
"Yeah?" She asks, walking out of the camper.
"Can you put their bikes into the truck?" I ask.
She does, and then we hook up the camper to the truck. She drives us about an hour to our favorite campground.
We all get out of the truck and immediately our children's eyes light up.
"Mama! Look at the park! It's so big!" Asher says, pointing to the playground.
"So cool, Buddy. You guys can go play with the other kids if you want to, Okay?" Emily says.
"Okay." They say, and run off to the park.
"They're so grown up." I say, watching them play with the other children so well.
"I know. They're getting so big." Emily says, making a fire next to me in the small provided fire pit.
"What're we having for dinner?" I ask.
"I don't know, are you hungry already?" She asks.
"I'm eating for two, I'll eat all I want." I say.
"We're probably going to have fish, or grilled cheese. Or both." She says.
"I'll help catch the fish, but I'm not gutting the thing." I say.
"That's fine." She laughs.
"I'm going to go to the park with Asher." She says, and runs there like a child. I put some snacks out on the little table emily set up earlier.
"Mommy! Look who's here!" Lily says, running up to Emily and I.
"Look, Brooklyn is here!" Lily says, showing us her friend.
"Hi, Brooklyn. I'm Lily's mommy." I say, shaking her hand.
"Hi." She says, shyly.
She's adorable. Her hair is in dark brunette beach waves and her green eyes shine so bright in the sunlight.
Then there's Lily, she's cuter though. Obviously. Because she's my baby. So what if I'm biased? Every mother is about their children.
Lily's blonde hair is curled with a half up and half down sort of look. She wanted me to do her make up this morning, so I did a tiny bit of mascara and nude eyeshadow. The eyeshadow is not noticeable but the mascara made her long eyelashes pop. I don't know how Emily and I have managed to make such beautiful little humans.
It makes me wonder what the new baby will look like.
What his or her personality will be like.
Then I see a couple walking up to us.
"Hi, Im Jenny, and this is my husband, Nick." She says, shaking my hand.
I spot Emily walking back over to me holding Asher's hand.
