Chapter thirty-one: Help

Eren's POV:

The loud pounding of the drums woke me from my slumber, I looked to my right seeing Levi was still sleeping peacefully beside me, his head rested on my forearm.

I was enjoying the peacefulness with my pregnant mate, holding onto his stomach with one hand until an Alpha warrior from the Pack ran into the tent panting heavily.

"Pack Leader, we have just received some news!"

"What news?" I shook Levi awake, knowing he'd need to hear this as much as me being the Pack leaders mate and all.

He grumbled something as he began to wake up, noticing another Alpha in his nest he started growling at the man.

The Warrior ignored the threat and began speaking fearlessly.

"Alpha Hannes' Pack has been attacked. His territory been destroyed. The Pack are slowly traveling towards us. What should we do, Alpha?"

Levi froze in my arms, staring wide eyed at the fur covered bed, no longer looking at the Alpha.

He sat up straight in his nest, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"What did you just say..." he glared, not being able to believe the words being spoke of.

The man looked at him before repeating what he'd said previously, a lot slower.

"What should we do next Pack Leader?"

Without answering I got up from the bed and began to dress, grabbing extra clothes and blankets as well.

"Does alpha Hannes have anywhere to go? If not we are here to offer up our homes and food."

"They were last seen traveling towards us." The man bowed.

"Then we shall meet them half way. Order the Alphas to grab anything that would help them in their time of need. They will be staying with us from now on..."

The young man nodded and ran out, informing everyone of the news and of my orders.

I turned to a panicking Levi, he was collecting and gathering more pillows and blankets for me to take.

I walked to him and held him from behind, swaying from side to side trying to calm him down.

"Eren... our pu-"

I put my hand against his mouth, silencing him.

"Stay here whilst I go with the Alpha to Hannes' pack."

He nodded, understanding, although I knew he was hoping he could come, but I feared with him being pregnant he wouldn't be able to make the trip.

"I'm sorry Levi but if you come I'll be constantly worried about your safety, as well as the pups'."

"I understand. I won't put them in danger..." He looked down at his stomach and patted the bump lovingly.

"Come home safely... and bring Wolfe with you, please."

I smiled and lead him out of our home, practically dragging him out of his nest by the ears to make sure he says goodbye to me properly...

An Alpha set up a horse for me and I packed the blankets and food onto it.

Levi also tried to help but whenever he went on his tippy toes he would almost immediately hold his back in pain.

As the Alphas began to leave Levi kissed me as if it was our last and watched me leave along with everyone else.

Levi's POV:

The Omegas and the children stayed behind, waving to their lovers, brothers and sisters.

Although they were not being sent to battle it was still hard to see them leave.

Right, time to be a good Pack Leaders Mate...

"Omegas, Children. Gather round me please."

They looked to me in surprise but followed, forming a tight circle around me.

"The Alphas will be gone for a few days, maybe even weeks... we must stay alert. Other packs may learn of our loneliness and chose to attack, that is why I am moving all pups and mothers to a safe place..."

I remembered Eren telling me about the safe place whilst we were courting, he showed me around and we both stumbled upon it.

It was an underground chamber, spacious enough for the whole pack as well as more.

"When the other pack arrives, we will greet them with harvest food as well as meat, they will be hungry and they will be exhausted, they are our fellow pack members, we will not be afraid of them. Welcome them and do not pity them..."

They nodded in agreement, some beginning to gather their harvesting equipment.

"Mothers and pups follow me, I will lead you to safety..."

I began to walk away to lead the people to the safe place when a male Omega grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"What about you, Pack leaders mate, what about your pups..."

I looked down at my stomach and sighed.

I didn't sign up for this...

"My first priority is my Packs safety. I will send a message to my sister immediately. Please prepare a carriage for someone to travel..."

I decided I would obey Eren's words to stay safe and stay at home, but that didn't mean I didn't want help from my sisters Pack.

I quickly led the pups, mothers and elderly to the underground safe space, packing in food as well as water and blankets for them to stay in.

"The rest of you please harvest and hunt for our guests." The healthy and unbonded Omegas as well as betas left to pick at the crops, ready for the other packs arrival in days to come.

"Please do not come out until I return..." I spoke to the ones in the cave.

I poked the same male Omega as before, silently thanking him for his concern over my pups.

"Does Pack leader Eren know you are asking Pack Maria for help?

"No, and he'll hate me for it but I need my sisters help. Please send a messenger immediately."

"Right away!"
