Yep, that's right. Pokemon Go fanfiction, in paperback published form.
I know fanfiction is technically in a grey area legally, but selling it (this was for $8) is rediculous! I almost bought it ironically to see how bad it was, but I decided that I should instead attempt to pirate this garbage instead.
Obviously this was made as a cash grab to cash in on the Pokemon Go craze, but really? Poor kids that got this book as a present from some unaware relatives.
There's also that whole thing about how Nintendo DMCA'd several Pokemon fan games, which I understand, but they were being given away for free. This, however, has a price tag and is being sold in brick and mortar stores. You'd think this would be attacked as well but I guess not. A little annoying as someone who would have made a Pokemon fan game by now if it was acceptable.
Seriously though, if someone finds a free copy online they should tell me about it 👍
